Five years ago, a small group of passionate dog lovers came together with one goal — to create a dog club built on kindness, community, and positive reinforcement training. What started in 2021 as a dream around a kitchen table has grown into an incredible community of members, instructors, volunteers, and dogs of all shapes and sizes.

From our founding members taking a leap of faith during the uncertainty of COVID, to finding our training grounds, building lifelong friendships, and helping countless handlers create stronger relationships with their dogs — it has been an amazing journey.

Peninsula Positive Paws Dog Club was created to offer modern, science-based, reward-focused training in a welcoming and supportive environment where both dogs and handlers can learn, grow, and most importantly… have fun together. ❤️

Over the past 5 years we’ve welcomed so many wonderful members into our club family, watched puppies grow into confident companions, celebrated achievements big and small, and built a community we are incredibly proud of.

To everyone who has supported us along the way — our members, instructors, supporters, and of course the dogs — THANK YOU. None of this would have been possible without you.

Here’s to celebrating how far we’ve come and to many more years of wagging tails, muddy paws, laughter, learning, and friendship. 🐶✨

Sniff happens… and we LOVE it 🐾👃

Did you know that letting your dog stop and sniff isn’t just them being “distracted” — it’s actually one of the best forms of enrichment you can give them? Scent work taps into your dog’s natural instincts, helping to build confidence, reduce stress, and mentally tire them out (sometimes even more than a big walk!).

From nervous pups gaining confidence to high-energy dogs learning to focus, sniffing is a superpower we’re big fans of. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to strengthen the bond between you and your dog as you learn to work together as a team.

This weekend, as we pause training for ANZAC Day, we take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by so many—both people and animals—in service.

Dogs have long stood beside us in times of conflict, offering loyalty, courage, and companionship in the most challenging conditions. From carrying messages to providing comfort, their contribution is a quiet but powerful part of history that we honour alongside our human heroes.

We’re grateful for the bond we share with our own dogs every day, and this weekend is a chance to remember just how special that partnership truly is.

Lest we forget. 🌺

We all know our furry friends are the true rulers of our lives, so it’s only fair they get to live like royalty for a day!

One of the many perks of being part of Peninsula Positive Paws Dog Club is our weekly social walks, led by our incredible volunteer trainers. It’s not just about training—it’s about connection, confidence, and a whole lot of wagging tails.

We’re pretty lucky to call the Peninsula home, with so many beautiful, dog-friendly spots right on our doorstep. Whether it’s a relaxed stroll or a chance to practice skills in the real world, these walks are a favourite for both pups and their humans.
