Week 9: It was another successful geocache find on Monday, as we searched and ventured through the underbrush on the esplanade. We’ve been on a roll lately, so hopefully we can end the term with another find next week. We finally unveiled the extra game within our puzzle to big brain results. Followed with Hues and Cues and Kelly pool 🪨🧩

Tuesday, with the wall painted and new additions to the space, we commenced operation Feng Shui. We rearranged the furniture, adding new displays and posters, really zhuzhing up the room…mission accomplished. We tested our communication skills by communicating without talking, in close games of Sequence. With Dragon Ball and pool following close behind 🛋️🃏

It was a cool Tuesday, as we finalised the design of our card game. We ironed out the rules and played the game with the new card designs, which came up quite nicely. Continuing our pool playing and sequencing it up 🎮♠️

Week 8: The week started off with not just one geocache being found but two! After searching the depths of a public library box exchange on Monday, we found it magnetic, followed by a water logged cache in the forest, yay. Rummikub made a welcomed comeback with more of the popular Hues & Cues 📚🦌

Tuesday, we were treated with Japanese chocolates in the form of Kit Kats, each flavour unique to the areas in which they are sold. We finished the wall adding the last coat and final zhuzhing of the room (for now) with pool soon to follow 🫟🍫

It was a damp and drizzle Thursday, as we brainstormed the look and feel of our card game and play testing with uniform cards before we finalise design. With Kelly pool, Mantis following close behind ♦️🎱

Week 7: It was a nice change on Monday as we were able to explore without it raining. Unfortunately the first geocache remained hidden and the second was barred from us. If you thought the locked gate was enough, the felled tree certainly stopped us in our tracks. Hopefully we won’t be thwarted by such circumstances in next week’s adventure. We tested our colour theory with more Hues and Cues and pool 🥾🖍️

Tuesday, we continued the touch ups on the wall with one more coat needed to complete our masterpiece. We applied the first paint to our 3D printed sign, coming along quite nicely and looking very cool. Followed by more Hues and Cues, digital dishes with Plate Up, pool and Mantis the card game 🎨🍽️

On a cool Thursday, we were able to test run our card game with final fine tuning and balancing, on to the designing of the cards with themes and colours. Followed by Kelly pool, Mantis and Plate up ♠️🎱

Week 6: It was a great success on Monday as we found a geocache! It’s been quite the drought, which is ironic because it’s been raining constantly. First of many to find in the weeks ahead. We made great progress on the puzzle, just one piece alludes us. Card games, pool and Code Breakers followed suit 🏆🧩

Tuesday, we added the final colours to the wall. With just a few touch ups left, the wall will be complete in all its striped, colourful glory. With pool and the card game Mantis had fun by all 👩‍🎨🖌️

Thursday it was stormy and rainy as we are quite accustomed to now, testing the newly printed cards in protectors and all. We tested colour theory in the board game Hues & Cues with Kelly pool, Gang Beasts and serving food virtually with Plate Up afterwards 🖍️🥩

Week 5: Thanks to the drenching downpour on Monday we couldn’t go geocaching, unless we brought our scuba gear. We organised our plan of attack for the coming weeks and we touted terrific table tennis, tournament with pool, Dragon Ball and Mantis card game 🌂🏓

Tuesday it was still raining and try as we might the tape would not tape, so we touched up the paint on other wall, beautifying it even more. We also gave our 3D printed logo a couple of coats, good thing too given the chilly weather, tis primed and ready to be painted. Followed up by pool and Citadels 🖌️🏰

The skies parted and the sun shone on a glorious Thursday, a bit nippy but it wasn’t raining so we’ll take it. Perfect weather to try our indoor card game as we fine tuned and balanced the special cards to clarifying results. We virtually cooked or lack thereof in Overcooked 2, working together to create the perfect meal or at least serve in an edible manner. Sequence and Kelly Pool followed suit🃏🥘

Week 4: This week started off with clear skies and a slight chilly disposition, as we cached the geo on Monday. Unbeknownst to us but beknownst to the geocaches, they remained unfounded, twas a tad difficult on the rating, however the exploring was fun. With pool and the beginning of our new 1000 piece puzzle 🧭🧩

Tuesday, we ventured into the city for the Australian Manufacturing Week 2026, seeing all the machines and the future of manufacturing in action. Covering the floor of the Brisbane convention and exhibition centre, an interesting and fun little outing with lunch following and the train trip back home 🫡🤖

On a torrential Thursday, we workshopped our game with the added bonus cards, to fun and unexpected results. Balancing will be required as some were quite over powered and may have outnumbered the regular cards. With more of our puzzle puzzling and pool pooling 🃏🎱

Week 3: We didn’t worry about Monday this week and just went straight into Tuesday, granted Monday was a public holiday but semantics. We gave orange its final coat on the wall before unmasking the masking tape. Three colours down, two to go. With crafting projects, rounds of Kelly pool and Imperem following suit🧑‍🎨🫟

Thursday we play tested some of the new mechanics in our card game. Hilarity, fun and annoying results were had, depending on which side of the card effect you were on. With pool, both the Kelly and teams variety, followed by mafia and six card golf ♣️⛳️

Week 2: It was a chilly autumn morning as the rain battered and hindered our ability to venture out and geocache on Monday. Confined indoors but using our trusty geocaching app, we were able to decipher a code that will lead us to the location of a tricky cache location. Following with rounds of pool, dragon ball and six card golf 💻🐉

Tuesday saw more downpour but it wasn’t a rain on our parade, as we made excellent progress on the paint-a-wall, with the wall gaining three of its newfound colours. As miniatures were painted, pool and a quick round of Outsmarted testing out the new trivia packs 👨‍🎨🌈

Our card game is taking shape, as we battled it out on Thursday. Incorporating different elements, thinking up and trialing various ideas for cards and mechanics ‘twas a storming of brains with or without the rain. Kelly pool, mafia, mini ice hockey and six card golf winning out as favourites ♣️🎱

Week 1: We started off the new term with exploration and discovery in our Monday’s gallivanting geocaching. The first find, fantastic foraging found us the hidden cache but we weren’t so lucky with the second location, as we searched high and low, literally. Followed by the usual suspects of pool and testing out the new questions packs, in the digital trivia game Outsmarted 🗺️🌳

Tuesday, we discussed art and craft ideas for the youth space, giving some zhuzh and decor. We taped up the wall primed and ready for some colour application, speaking of which, some dice were painted by the numbers, in that we painted the numbers on our dice and also molded some more. With pool, dragon ball and crime city board game following suit 🎨🎲

We brainstormed the beginnings of a new card game on Thursday, playing our original card game Imperem first then constructive construction of the foundation of themes, characters and gameplay. Rounds of Kelly pool was had closely followed by dragon ball and six card golf 🃏🔱
