South Port had a small but enthusiastic team at Pool Rescue Aussies, giving it their all and having a ball at the same time. With most just taking up pool rescue competitions this season, they made massive improvements and had some great results. With 7 competitors racing for South Port the team had some great results, no bling but some huge efforts.

Highlights include U14/15 girls relays coming away with 4th in Obstacle Relay, 4th in the Manikin Relay and 5th in the Medley Relay, Alex Botha had a 4th in 40-44 50m Manikin Carry and our Botha’s father/son combo, Alex and Austin, came 6th in the Open Men’s line throw!

Special mention to young Nicholas Gold, who was asked at the last minute to help make teams with Semaphore SLSC, so after transferring across they had a number of good relays and topped it off with a bronze in Under 12/13 Brick Relay, well done Nicholas and team.

A huge congratulations to Austin on his selection to the Surf Life Saving South Australia High Performance Athlete Program for the 2026–27 season.

Austin has been recognised as a Podium Potential athlete, following outstanding performances at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships over the past two years, including:�🥈 U15 Male Beach Sprint – 2nd (2025)�🏃 U17 Male Beach Sprint – 6th (2026)

As part of this recognition, Austin has also been selected to take part in SLSSA's inaugural SASI High Performance Experience—an exciting opportunity that reflects his dedication, hard work, and potential for future success in surf sports.
