This post is going to be the hardest of all and possibly a long one Making a Difference Kitten and Cat Rescue has been in existence for 12 years the number of rescues that we have conducted over this time we are very proud to have been involved in saving the lives and prevention of more kittens coming into this world. We are certainly aware of the problems with the ever growing population of abandoned suburban cats and kittens its all been said with no change or assistance over the 12 years that all started when a daughter came home with kittens and she wanted to save them, what would you do. We have been slammed since RSPCA left not just from Port Lincoln but the WHOLE of Eyre Peninsula its heartbreaking to hear their stories let alone having to walk away from colonies of numerous cats and kittens that are suffering beyond belief. We have suffered carer fatigue some carers have been doing this for a long time and have taken a step back the kittens above are being fed every 2 hours by one of our dedicated carers that has so much experience, it is not all cute and cuddley all the time, it has become hard to carry on within the current way. Kitten season is once again upon us with warmer weather on the way, we need to clear our enormous Vet costs, our main fund raising is Bunnings BBQ which has been cut to 1 a month so we need to think about what direction we take, raising money towards cheaper desexing, with the cost of living this problem is going to add to it all. We can't solve this problem alone that is why we will be taking a step back to address the challenges of getting a better outcome for the Felines that don't get to choose to be born.

On a positive note we can not THANK the kind people that donate in our Bins at WOOLWORTH COLES DRAKES PETSTOCK enough we still have kittens and cats that are in our care from last season as they get older it is harder to find homes. We dream of having a shelter it is not ideal to be caring for kittens in our homes this is why we need to get together as a community and Councils to work towards a solution. THANK YOU 😊

This is Tiggy she was found abandoned in the bush out of town when the people parked she came running to them cold wet and skinny they took her home and gave her the care she needed but are unable to keep her. Tiggy is about 5to6 months old has had worm and flea treatment and is very friendly, we need to find her a home asap as we have several in our care around the same age if you are interested please message the page Thank you

We will be at Bunnings tomorrow hopefully the weather will be kinder as we cook Slape and Sons sausages from Drakes and Bakers Delight bread to raise money towards our Vet costs while you are visiting Bunnings drop into Petstock and check out River and Robin waiting for their new homes THANK you 😊
