Everyone loves a bargain and when Lyn Duerden found these shoes heavily marked down she was kind enough to think of CHATS knowing we are always in need of men's runners. Luckily our volunteer Christine also saw the bargain and quickly secured even more for us.

4 years ago Gerry was sleeping on the beach when a king tide was about to wash away his belongings, community rallied and he now loves his assisted living accommodation.

We have rarely seen Gerry over the years, now with the cost of basic necessities increasing his visits are becoming more regular.

We love seeing him as he is always so happy, his smile grew wider with this bag of toiletries from Mark Colyer - Sema4-2Largs and treats from the community donation bins at Drakes North Haven, sweet tooth fix made easy, thank you to all who contribute.

Loved paying a compliment to our young Ms B on how fabulous she looked in her jeans Friday morning. She was looking very confident and a few inches taller.

Turns out the jeans came from CHATS free shop the previous week, she loves them. When you love what you are wearing on the outside, you feel a bit better on the inside. Thanks to all our volunteers who help make a shopping experience a joy.

Thank you to everyone who donates great quality, clean clothing. We are currently bursting at the seems and unable to accept any donations at the moment.

Thank you Fruit Share Adelaide volunteers for picking beautiful pears and apples to share. Fruit has been hard to come by, their help in keeping people healthy is so important during winter.
Also, thank you to Leanna, who picked juicy oranges from her tree to bring in to share. Love your work.

When our friend Amber from Henley Opportunity Shop rang to ask us to confirm CHATS bank details the surprise of a $5000 donation coming our way was overwhelming.

We love all they do for local communities, we immediately came up with part of funds being put towards our Christmas dinner and bus tour of the local Christmas lights.

We are so excited to have them join us for this special night which is important for our visitors who dont have cars and would otherwise miss viewing the lights that help make Christmas that little more special.

Woodville South Sports and Community Club and Lions of Charles Sturt you have gone over and above to help those in the community doing it tough.

When the Masters offered to do a "can drive" of 1000 cans of non-perishable food, who could have imagined the response, they nailed it! Thank you to all at the Club who donated, shopped and delivered. Thanks Ward and Pete VR for the heavy lifting. Amazing support.

Ongoing, we will be using the $2000 grant from Lions of Charles Sturt to purchase food for our free grocery table for our visitors to take home over winter.

Full bellies of comfort food help during these difficult times.

If our volunteers are a bit weary tonight I understand.
After 3 quite weeks with an average of only 77 visitors we were blown away with 107 beautiful visitors today. Many we hadn't seen for some time so lots of hugs and smiles.

Volunteers were quickly cooking additional food, setting up additional place settings and the free shop was in huge demand for clothing and sleeping bags. Dog food was a huge hit thanks to our friends The Pet Butcher and ARC Animal Rescue

The support from Foodbank SA & Central Australia and OzHarvestSA
Resulted in CHATS having fabulous veggies to share and plenty of wonderful prizes for the free raffles.

Today, we served pulled pork rolls with apple sauce and shredded chicken/cheese rolls along with the usual baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach. The cereal, yoghurt and Steve's stewed apple is a hit. The cakes are always amazing thanks to Woolworths.

These volunteers give from the heart and no one left hungry or cold all 107 people trying to either balance the budget, socially connecting, or coming for their best meal of the week. Have to love that
