Soil & Soul is a community garden in Palmwoods, Queensland. We welcome groups and individuals who want to grow community and healthy food

Palmwoods Community Garden is a place where local residents & community groups are welcome to come to ‘grow and help others grow’. It is named ‘Soil & Soul’ as it as much about growing relationships as about growing plants. A licence agreement has been made whereby the Palmwoods Uniting Church has leased some land to Palmwoods Community & Business Association at no cost to be used as a Community Garden. This relationship is to be maintained through communication and mutual consideration with mindfulness towards the environment and benefits of the community. Thanks to the Sunshine Coast Council we received a grant to prepare the site. We also received a Healthy Towns Award under the Greenspace category which paid for our first set of raised beds. Purpose and Objectives
• promote a harmonious mix of the diverse approaches to sustainable gardening
• encourage the spirit of cooperation, consultation, community pride and achievement
• making productive use of vacant land
• to acquire, share and increase knowledge and practice of chemical-free gardening
• cooperate with nature to establish and maintain an ecologically balanced and sustainable method of growing fruit, vegetables, flowers and trees
• to be inclusive in being available to people from a diverse range of backgrounds, ages and abilities

We gained an umbrella and lost a raincoat at the bushdance. If you are missing a brolly or have a raincoat that is surplus to requirements perhaps you could pop into The Little Book Nook sometime and we can redress the wet weather options for two parties 😄
The raincoat is dark blue.

In case you didn’t guess. No gardening and dinner tonight. Too wet & too tired! Our Bush Dance was a great success last night however! Thankyou to all who helped to make it such a wonderful occasion: volunteers, sponsors and the many attendees who braved the weather.

A huge thank you to Chloe and the team of volunteers from Gourmet Garden Palmwoods this afternoon. Donating seedlings, soil, tools and putting in a couple of hours of hard work. It’s amazing how much you can get done in a short time with a dozen or so willing helpers. It’s really whipped the garden into shape for the upcoming season.
