This year, Pakenham Scouts are taking pre-orders for Christmas trees, tree stands and even blanket badges. You can select pickup from David Bulls in Pakenham or delivery within 5km for a flat $12 (you can even pick the day and time).

🐾 Hop Into Cuboree 2026! 🐾

Our Joey Scouts had an awesome day at Hop Into Cuboree 2026!
The adventure started at Pakenham Train Station, where the Joeys jumped on the bus and headed off to Gilwell Park for a day packed with fun and a chance to experience some of the activities Cub Scouts get to enjoy at Cuboree.

Throughout the day they had a go at 🪓 hatchet throwing, 🔫 Nerf gun wars, 🛒 a team billy-cart challenge, and 🪢 a rope obstacle course, amongst plenty of other activities.

While having lunch, they also got to sit back and enjoy a reptile show 🐍🦎. They even got to watch the Cubs tackle the mud run, getting absolutely covered from head to toe in mud — which definitely got plenty of laughs from the Joeys!

They also got to meet a very special guest Chief Commissioner Victoria - Daniella Taglieri OAM, and were lucky enough to have a photo with her! 📸⚜️

There was lots of teamwork, encouragement, excitement and plenty of smiles as everyone got stuck into the day.

The day left our Joeys with a real taste of what Cuboree is like, and they’re already excited for the next one when they’ll be there as Cubs themselves! 💙

What a way to finish off the term! 🔫🏰⚜️

For our final Joey night, the hall was completely transformed for a massive Fort Building Nerf War!

The Joeys arrived to find the hall looking more like a Nerf battle zone than a Scout hall, with forts, barricades, barrels, boxes, plastic walls, caution tape and black-and-yellow obstacles hanging from the roof. With coloured lights, smoke effects and music pumping in the background, the whole hall had an awesome battle-zone atmosphere before the first Nerf dart had even been fired!

Before the battle began, the Joeys worked together to build and strengthen their forts, finding the best places to hide, defend and launch their attacks. And while there was plenty of excitement, safety came first everyone took it seriously and wore eye protection during the Nerf battles. 😎

Once everything was ready, it was time to battle! There was plenty of running, ducking behind barricades, sneaking around corners and firing darts across the hall along with lots of laughs, excitement and just the right amount of chaos 😂

It was a brilliant night full of teamwork, imagination, strategy and fun, and a fantastic way to finish another great term of Joey Scouts.

A huge thank you to all our Joeys, families and Leaders for another term of adventures, laughs and memories.

Last night PSG Scouts (and our friends from Upper Beacy') finished up our T3 by doing the Sky Trail at Clip & Climb. I don't think Spiderman has anything to worry about but there were definately some cool poses and spins as they tackled the flying fox. Enjoy the holidays everyone. T4 kicks off on Tuesday Oct 6th at the hall, 7pm.

Today at the Adult Recognition Awards at Gilwell Park, three of our Leaders were recognised for their dedication, commitment and contribution to Scouting.

👏 Tristan (Dingo) – Assistant Group Leader & Assistant Joey Leader
🏅 Special Service Award
The Special Service Award recognises a noteworthy contribution through the successful support, development or management of a Section or Formation, or an intense contribution to a major event or activity. A fantastic recognition of Tristan’s contribution to our Joey Unit and Pakenham Scout Group.

👏 Lara – Group Leader
🏅 Meritorious Service Award
The Meritorious Service Award recognises around six to eight years of meritorious or praiseworthy service, performing to a higher standard, for longer or more intensely than would reasonably be expected. A wonderful acknowledgement of Lara’s leadership, dedication and ongoing commitment to our Group.

👏 Gordon – Venturer Leader
🏅 Silver Wattle Award
The Silver Wattle recognises outstanding service to Scouting, generally over 10–12 years in active leadership roles. It recognises consistently high standards of service across a number of roles or assignments that have delivered positive outcomes for Scouting.

A huge congratulations to Tristan, Lara and Gordon on these very well-deserved awards! 🎉

Last night was our Final Stem session of the term - PSG Crazy Bird Man! Our Youth members found themselves an eggy stunt pilot (some of whom survived) and tested out their flying contraptions with some very surprising results. As well as that a couple of last minute investments before the end of term. Prizes to be announced next week.
