☀️ What a brilliant sunny day at Broadwater Parklands in Southport for the 2026 Monster Machinery Day!
The place is full of happy families, smiling faces, and excited kids checking out all the incredible machines.

We’ve got the RFSQ volunteers here until 3pm — come down and say hi! We’d love to see you.

Monster Machinery Day is one of the Gold Coast’s most-loved free family events, now in its 22nd year. Spanning over a kilometre of parkland, it showcases the powerful vehicles and equipment that help build and maintain our amazing city.
With giant excavators, trucks, emergency vehicles, live demos, train rides, a rock climbing wall and more, there’s something for everyone. It’s a fantastic celebration of the hardworking machinery and people that keep the Gold Coast running smoothly.

Come on down while you still can — it’s a great day out by the water! 🚜🚒

On Friday, some of our volunteers visited Mt Warren Park School for their Under 8s Celebration Day.

As in previous years, the children had a fantastic time playing with the fire hoses and exploring one of our fire trucks.

A big thank you to the teachers and staff at Mt Warren Park School for having us along!

The rains have cleared thankfully.

Our crews were back at it tonight, honing their skills in supplying water over long distance between vehicles, called relaying.

It’s skills like this that can mean a world of difference when it matters.

Vale Ray Tiley ❤️
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ray Tiley, a dedicated volunteer with the Pimpama & Ormeau Rural Fire Brigade.

Ray served the communities of Pimpama, Willow Vale and Ormeau for over 25 years and was awarded a National Service Medal in 2014.

Ray sadly passed away on 4 May 2026, aged 73.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, 14 May at 10:00am at Newhaven Funerals, Stapylton (Yellowwood Chapel), followed by a gathering at The Gem Hotel, Alberton.

Rest easy Ray.

Training for incident response also means preparing for the lowest occurrence, highest risk hazards that can occur. We are out at Gainsborough Green Parklands tonight sharpening our skills.

When Burnover can happen in a heartbeat every second matters for the safety of all our firefighters.

Training for the worst to perform at our best. 💪🚨

A very wet and somber day as our brigade attended Anzac Day service at pimpama war memorial

We assisted with the running of the event, listened to the words from family of the fallen and then laid a wreath in memory of those who have served for our great country
