One crew from Ormeau was back out yesterday with continued assistance to Rocky Point Rural Fire Brigade (Jacobs Well, QLD) with patrol of the Norwell fire ground.

Crew wrapped up monitoring around 11pm and returned back to station.

AVOID SMOKE - Eagleby, Jacobs Well and Pimpama - fire as at 1:44pm Wednesday, 14 October 2026

Warning level: ADVICE

Warning area: Eagleby, Jacobs Well, Pimpama and surrounding areas

Thick smoke is affecting Eagleby, Jacobs Well, Pimpama and surrounding areas. This is from a fire burning on Kerkin Road.

Fire crews are currently on scene. This fire could burn for days. Protect yourself from the impacts of smoke.

What you should do:

- If the smoke is thick where you are, stay inside and close windows and doors.
- If you need medication to help you breathe keep it close.
- If you are worried about your health call your doctor or 13 HEALTH (13 432 584). If it is an emergency, call Triple Zero (000) now.
- If you are affected by the smoke you may need to leave the area.
- Check for warning updates often.
- Do not fly drones around the fire as they affect firefighting.

Impacts:

- No properties are at risk.
- Smoke could make it hard for some people to breathe and can cause health issues.
- Some roads may be closed or impacted by smoke. It could be hard to see. You may need to drive a different way.

*** FIRECALLS - Wongawallan and Norwell - 14/10/2026 ***

We have two crews out assisting neighbouring brigade areas with fires, one crew responded to assist with the fire near Kerkin Rd & Norwell Lakes Rd, Norwell earlier today and remains on scene to assist with planning/mapping.
The other crew currently just responded to a bushfire incident on Tambourine-Oxenford Rd, Wongawallan.

Follow Queensland Fire Department for all incident updates and warnings as required.

Smoke will be visible in areas around both incidents - please follow precautions down below:

⚠️ Please take care and follow these precautions:
• Avoid the affected area where possible and allow emergency vehicles clear access.
• Follow any official warnings or instructions issued by emergency services.
• If smoke is present, close windows and doors and consider moving indoors.
• Drive carefully, particularly where visibility may be reduced by smoke or emergency vehicles.
• Do not enter closed roads or incident areas to observe firefighting operations.

🚨 FIRE CALL - 1545hrs 07/10/26 🚨

This afternoon a crew three from Ormeau responded to Eagleby along with two crews from Cedar Creek Wolffdene Rural Fire Brigade to assist Beenleigh Queensland Fire Department Fire and Rescue with a grass fire.
