North Lakes parkrun

North Lakes parkrun A free, weekly, timed 5k event every Saturday morning at 7am at Lake Eden, North Lakes. Everyone is welcome to walk, run or volunteer.

parkrun (http://www.parkrun.com/) is a not-for-profit organisation established in the United Kingdom in 2004 to provide a free, weekly, timed 5km running event to every community that wants one. There are now 170+ events around the world with more than 15,000 runners participating every Saturday morning. The parkrun record is 14:00 set by Craig Mottram on 10 June, 2006. Events are organised by local volunteers with support from parkrun.

The Day Is Done

The day is done, the course is clear,
Another parkrun brought us here.
With smiles, support, and spirits bright,
You helped make everything run right.

A huge thank you to those who gave
Their time to volunteer and save
The magic that we all enjoy,
For every runner, girl, and boy.

Today, 244 took part,
Each with their own determined heart.
They walked, they jogged, they ran with pride,
With our community by their side.

So as the morning fades away,
We thank you all for today's display.
To volunteers and participants too,
This event is special because of you. 💙🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️👏
