🏠 Building Application Forms & Guidelines - Important Update

🧱 Planning to build, renovate, install a fence, carport or patio, or make other changes to your property in Nhulunbuy?

🆕 Nhulunbuy Corporation has updated its Building Application Form and introduced a new Minor Building Works Form to align with Building Note 114 (BN114) and the Tier 2 Building Control Framework.

🏡 New Community Building Guidelines
We've also developed practical guidelines to help residents, property owners, contractors and builders understand building requirements and approval processes.
The following guidelines are currently available for:
✔️ Fencing
✔️ Carports & Patios
✔️ Garden Sheds
✔️ Shipping Containers

👌 Additional guidelines will be released over time to make building requirements clearer and easier to follow.

🏆 Another reason to celebrate 🐾🎉

And while we’re celebrating winners and high achievers, we have some more exciting news to share about one of our very own team members at the Nhulunbuy Corporation!

Our Animal Management Officer, Tristan Langford, has been achieving great things through his business, Tristan’s Animal Services , recently being recognised as an East Arnhem winner at the Northern Territory Export & Business Awards.

But wait, there’s more! 👏

Last Friday night, Tristan’s Animal Services went on to take out the Outstanding New Start-up Business Award at the Northern Territory Export & Business Awards! 🏆🎉 The award was proudly accepted on the night by Tristan’s greatest supporter and gorgeous partner, Bonnie. ❤️

Tristan’s passion for animal welfare, dedication and hard work are clearly making an impact, and it’s fantastic to see his efforts recognised in this way.

We’re incredibly proud to have Tristan as part of the Nhulunbuy Corporation team, and this achievement is another reminder of what a fantastic asset he is to our community.

All allotments were judged solely on their condition on the day of judging.
These awards are a great opportunity to celebrate the effort local businesses put into maintaining their properties and contributing to the character of Nhulunbuy.

🚧 Water Burst Part 2 - Temporary Driveway Closure 🚧

Following on from this morning’s water main burst on Westal Street, the Nhulunbuy Corporation wishes to advise the community of a further disruption affecting access to the Walkabout Tavern.

Due to the significant burst beneath the tavern’s entry driveway off Westal Street, the entry driveway will be temporarily closed, with no vehicle access via this entrance until at least Thursday morning, 22nd October.

Concrete contractors will be engaged tomorrow morning, Wednesday 21st October, to carry out remediation works and replace the damaged concrete.

We understand this may cause some inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s patience while these essential repairs are completed.

Please take care around the work area and follow any temporary traffic directions in place.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.

💧 The water interruption is expected to last for up to 4 hours, at this stage.
