Path 2 Change (P2C) is a not-for-profit committed to preventing and reducing homelessness. Path 2 Change promotes social inclusion amongst young people.

Path 2 Change (P2C) is committed to providing young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, specialised support and access to education, training and employment opportunities. Path 2 Change contributes to the Going Home Staying Home reform through collaborative case-management with Specialist Homelessness Services, and applies the ‘No Wrong Door’ approach to homelessness, in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Lower Hunter and Port Stephens areas. P2C can help young people to make the right connections in line with their skills and abilities, passion and drive, which leads to increased success in sustaining employment, in the longer term. P2C is dedicated to young people to become independent, connect with their communities, and less likely to be at risk of homelessness. We work with young people from Aboriginal and CALD backgrounds and the LGBT community, providing a culturally respectful and appropriate, inclusive and safe response, for young people who access our service.

☕🍇 Introducing Grounds and Grapes! 🍇☕

We are so excited to announce a brand-new workshop we have been developing in partnership with Gundog Estate!

Grounds and Grapes is a two-day experience giving young people supported by Path 2 Change the chance to get a real taste of hospitality and cellar-door work.

Across the two days, participants will have the opportunity to build practical barista and hospitality skills, learn about customer service and teamwork, explore the business behind a cellar door, and experience workplace tasks in a real hospitality environment.

Most importantly, it’s about building confidence, discovering strengths and helping young people see new possibilities for their future.

We are incredibly proud of this partnership with Gundog Estate and can’t wait to see Grounds and Grapes come to life! 💙

🎬 The Way We Care 💙

Last night, our Caseworker Dom had the opportunity to attend a screening of The Way We Care at Tower Cinemas.

The 2026 documentary explores Australia’s out-of-home care system through the lived experiences of young people who grew up in state care, and asks an important question: what does it really mean to care for a young person?

The film highlights the importance of relational care and the power of genuine human connection when supporting young people.

A real highlight for Dom was seeing Lachy in his element during the Q&A. He spoke so openly and thoughtfully about some really complex topics, including what relational care means.

It was a powerful reminder of something we see every day in our work at Path 2 Change. Young people need more than services and systems. They need people who listen, build trust, show up and genuinely care.

We are incredibly proud to see Lachy sharing his experience and contributing to such an important conversation.

🚗🎉 Congratulations, Tayeisha! 🎉🚗

We are so proud to celebrate Tayeisha, who recently passed her P's with the support of our Pathway Wheels Program!

When Tayeisha came on board with us, she didn’t have too many more hours left to complete. But sometimes, it’s those final hours and having the right support around you that makes all the difference.

We were so happy to be able to provide Tayeisha with the driving practice and support she needed to get across the finish line and reach this huge milestone. 💙

Getting your licence can open up so many new opportunities for a young person. More freedom, more independence, and more opportunities to get out there and chase the things you want in life.

Congratulations, Tayeisha! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see where the road takes you. 🚗💙

🍷 A Wonderful Day with Gundog Estate 🍷

Our CEO Jenn, Team Leader Sarah and some of our Board members recently had the pleasure of attending the Gundog Estate Luncheon at Circa 1876 in beautiful Pokolbin.

It was one of those winter afternoons that felt a little more like spring, with great food, beautiful surroundings and plenty of good conversations.

A real highlight for us was the opportunity to spend time with some of Gundog's W**e Club members and share more about the wonderful partnership we have with Gundog Estate and the difference their support makes for young people through Path 2 Change.

Jenn also had the opportunity to speak on behalf of Path 2 Change and share just how much we value our partnership with Gundog Estate, and the incredible support they have shown us over the years.

It's always special to be able to connect with the people who support our work, especially those who may not get to see the impact their support has firsthand.

A big thank you to the Gundog Estate team for a fantastic afternoon and for continuing to stand alongside us and the young people we support. 💙

🌊⛵ Out on the Water with Making Waves! ⛵🌊

A little while ago, some of our team headed out to check out the Making Waves sailing experience and see what it was all about.

This time, they got to take some of our young people along for the experience!

It was a great opportunity for our young people to try something completely different, get out on the water, learn some new skills and have a bit of fun along the way. 🌊

Experiences like this can be about so much more than just the activity itself. They give young people the chance to step outside their comfort zone, try something new, build confidence and create positive memories with the people supporting them.

We loved seeing our team and young people getting out there and making the most of the opportunity.

A big thank you to the Making Waves team for welcoming us and giving our young people the chance to experience something new! 💙

🚗🎉 Congratulations, Bodhi! 🎉🚗

We are so proud to celebrate Bodhi, who recently passed his P's test with the help of the Pathway Wheels Program and our wonderful volunteer Jo!

Getting your licence is a pretty big milestone, and for a young person it can open up a whole new world. More freedom, more independence, and more opportunities to get out there and chase the things you want in life.

Bodhi has been a fantastic young person to work with, and we are incredibly proud to have played a small part in helping him reach this milestone.

We are so excited to see what the future holds for this young man. Whatever comes next, we know there will be plenty of people cheering him on along the way. 💙

🤝 Great Conversations, Great Connections

Last night, our CEO Jenn, Team Leader Sarah, and Caseworker Joel attended another fantastic Hunter Young Professionals event, held in partnership with the University of Newcastle.

The evening featured insightful presentations from Holly Martin and Jacob Ure, who shared their experiences around building an authentic brand, creating meaningful connections, and using storytelling to open doors and create opportunities. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn from two passionate local professionals and hear their unique perspectives.

One of the best parts of attending events like these is the people you get to meet.

Our team had the pleasure of meeting Natalie Hogan, Founder of The Bridge Project, a youth support initiative connecting young people aged 12 to 24 across the Hunter with the help they need, when they need it. It was wonderful to learn more about the important work Natalie is doing, and we're looking forward to staying connected.

As Hunter Young Professionals' Charity Partner, we're incredibly grateful for opportunities like these to learn, connect, and build relationships with others who are making a positive impact across our region.

💙 Thank You, Lock Safe! 💙

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ethan and the incredible team at Lock Safe in Western Australia for their generous donation of $3,000 to Path 2 Change.

We are continually inspired by the generosity of businesses that choose to invest in the futures of young people they may never meet. It is a powerful reminder that kindness has the ability to reach far beyond geography and circumstance. Your support will have a lasting impact.

This incredible donation will be invested directly into our Pathway Wheels Program, helping us provide supervised driving hours and cover the many costs involved in supporting young people towards obtaining their driver's licence.

This generous contribution represents the equivalent of three young people completing the full 120 supervised driving hours through Pathway Wheels. Three more young people one step closer to employment, education, independence, and brighter futures.

For a young person experiencing homelessness or housing instability, a driver's licence is about so much more than driving.

It can provide access to:

📚 Education and training

🏠 Stable housing

🏥 Healthcare appointments

💙 Greater independence and connection to community

Thanks to Lock Safe's generosity, even more young people will have the opportunity to build the confidence, skills, and independence that come with obtaining their licence, opening doors that may otherwise have remained closed.

🖤💛❤️ One Piece at a Time ❤️💛🖤

To celebrate NAIDOC Week, we've created a space in our office for staff, young people, and visitors to come together over a shared puzzle featuring beautiful Aboriginal artwork.

Like the puzzle itself, every person brings something unique. Every story, every experience, and every perspective helps create something stronger when we come together with respect, curiosity, and connection.

NAIDOC Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the history, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, but it's also a reminder that learning doesn't stop when the week ends.

We encourage everyone to stay curious, keep listening, and continue building meaningful connections with the world's oldest continuing cultures throughout the year.

Together, we can create communities where culture is celebrated, voices are valued, and everyone has a place.

🖤💛❤️ NAIDOC Week 2026 ❤️💛🖤

This week, we join communities across Australia in celebrating NAIDOC Week and recognising the history, culture, achievements, and ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The theme for NAIDOC Week 2026 is "50 Years of Deadly", marking 50 years of NAIDOC celebrations and recognising the strength, resilience, leadership, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples over the past five decades.

The theme celebrates those who have paved the way through advocacy, culture, education, art, community leadership, and truth-telling. It also reminds us that while there is much to celebrate, there is still important work to be done as we continue to strive for a more equitable future.

At Path 2 Change, we recognise the importance of culture, identity, connection, and belonging in the lives of the young people we support. We are committed to creating culturally safe spaces where young people feel respected, empowered, and connected to their communities.

NAIDOC Week provides an opportunity for all Australians to listen, learn, and deepen their understanding of the world's oldest continuing cultures. It is a time to celebrate the knowledge, stories, traditions, and contributions that enrich our communities and our nation.

As we recognise 50 Years of Deadly, we acknowledge the achievements of the past, celebrate the strength of communities today, and look forward to a future built on respect, understanding, and opportunity.

We wish everyone a meaningful NAIDOC Week 2026.
