Path 2 Change (P2C) is a not-for-profit committed to preventing and reducing homelessness. Path 2 Change promotes social inclusion amongst young people.

Path 2 Change (P2C) is committed to providing young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, specialised support and access to education, training and employment opportunities. Path 2 Change contributes to the Going Home Staying Home reform through collaborative case-management with Specialist Homelessness Services, and applies the ‘No Wrong Door’ approach to homelessness, in the Newcas

tle, Lake Macquarie, Lower Hunter and Port Stephens areas. P2C can help young people to make the right connections in line with their skills and abilities, passion and drive, which leads to increased success in sustaining employment, in the longer term. P2C is dedicated to young people to become independent, connect with their communities, and less likely to be at risk of homelessness. We work with young people from Aboriginal and CALD backgrounds and the LGBT community, providing a culturally respectful and appropriate, inclusive and safe response, for young people who access our service.

🤝 Great Conversations, Great Connections

Last night, our CEO Jenn, Team Leader Sarah, and Caseworker Joel attended another fantastic Hunter Young Professionals event, held in partnership with the University of Newcastle.

The evening featured insightful presentations from Holly Martin and Jacob Ure, who shared their experiences around building an authentic brand, creating meaningful connections, and using storytelling to open doors and create opportunities. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn from two passionate local professionals and hear their unique perspectives.

One of the best parts of attending events like these is the people you get to meet.

Our team had the pleasure of meeting Natalie Hogan, Founder of The Bridge Project, a youth support initiative connecting young people aged 12 to 24 across the Hunter with the help they need, when they need it. It was wonderful to learn more about the important work Natalie is doing, and we're looking forward to staying connected.

As Hunter Young Professionals' Charity Partner, we're incredibly grateful for opportunities like these to learn, connect, and build relationships with others who are making a positive impact across our region.

💙 Thank You, Lock Safe! 💙

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ethan and the incredible team at Lock Safe in Western Australia for their generous donation of $3,000 to Path 2 Change.

We are continually inspired by the generosity of businesses that choose to invest in the futures of young people they may never meet. It is a powerful reminder that kindness has the ability to reach far beyond geography and circumstance. Your support will have a lasting impact.

This incredible donation will be invested directly into our Pathway Wheels Program, helping us provide supervised driving hours and cover the many costs involved in supporting young people towards obtaining their driver's licence.

This generous contribution represents the equivalent of three young people completing the full 120 supervised driving hours through Pathway Wheels. Three more young people one step closer to employment, education, independence, and brighter futures.

For a young person experiencing homelessness or housing instability, a driver's licence is about so much more than driving.

🖤💛❤️ One Piece at a Time ❤️💛🖤

To celebrate NAIDOC Week, we've created a space in our office for staff, young people, and visitors to come together over a shared puzzle featuring beautiful Aboriginal artwork.

Like the puzzle itself, every person brings something unique. Every story, every experience, and every perspective helps create something stronger when we come together with respect, curiosity, and connection.

NAIDOC Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the history, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, but it's also a reminder that learning doesn't stop when the week ends.

We encourage everyone to stay curious, keep listening, and continue building meaningful connections with the world's oldest continuing cultures throughout the year.

Together, we can create communities where culture is celebrated, voices are valued, and everyone has a place.

This week, we join communities across Australia in celebrating NAIDOC Week and recognising the history, culture, achievements, and ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The theme for NAIDOC Week 2026 is "50 Years of Deadly", marking 50 years of NAIDOC celebrations and recognising the strength, resilience, leadership, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples over the past five decades.

The theme celebrates those who have paved the way through advocacy, culture, education, art, community leadership, and truth-telling. It also reminds us that while there is much to celebrate, there is still important work to be done as we continue to strive for a more equitable future.

At Path 2 Change, we recognise the importance of culture, identity, connection, and belonging in the lives of the young people we support. We are committed to creating culturally safe spaces where young people feel respected, empowered, and connected to their communities.

NAIDOC Week provides an opportunity for all Australians to listen, learn, and deepen their understanding of the world's oldest continuing cultures. It is a time to celebrate the knowledge, stories, traditions, and contributions that enrich our communities and our nation.

As we recognise 50 Years of Deadly, we acknowledge the achievements of the past, celebrate the strength of communities today, and look forward to a future built on respect, understanding, and opportunity.

Another Pathway Wheels success story!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Xena, who has officially passed their P's test and obtained their driver's licence.

Xena completed approximately 30 hours through the Pathway Wheels Program and was always consistent, motivated, and committed to achieving their goal. Their determination and hard work paid off, and we couldn't be happier for them.

Obtaining a licence is about so much more than driving. It creates opportunities for greater independence, employment, education, and connection to community.

For Xena, this milestone marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, and we are looking forward to seeing where their journey takes them now that all roads are open to them.

As End of Financial Year approaches, your tax-deductible donation can help a young person experiencing homelessness or housing instability take a life-changing step toward independence.

For many young people in the Pathway Wheels Program, getting a driver’s licence is about far more than driving. It can mean access to employment, education, healthcare appointments, stable housing, and stronger community connections.

But there is a significant barrier many do not talk about, a lack of family and social support.

Unlike most learner drivers, many young people in our program do not have parents, relatives, or trusted people who can supervise their 120 required driving hours. Without access to a vehicle or someone to sit beside them, completing the licensing process becomes nearly impossible without community support.

That is where Pathway Wheels comes in.

Thanks to our community, the program has already made a real impact:
🚗 905 supervised driving hours completed
🎉 16 young people have obtained their licence
💰 $81,450+ saved in driving lesson costs

💡 Your EOFY donation helps directly cover the real costs of getting young people on the road, including fuel, servicing, tyres, registration, insurance, testing fees, and ongoing supervision.

Here is what your support can provide:
🚗 $85 = ~10 hours of supervised driving
🚗 $250 = ~30 hours
🚗 $500 = ~60 hours
💝 $1,000 = a full 120-hour licensing journey

To put this into perspective, a young person paying privately for 120 driving lessons at around $90 per hour would spend approximately $10,800. When you include test and licence fees, the total reaches around $11,000.

Through Pathway Wheels, we can support a young person through the same journey for about $1,000 thanks to community volunteers, shared resources, and donations like yours.

🖤💛❤️ National Reconciliation Week 2026 ❤️💛🖤

From 27 May to 3 June, Australia recognises National Reconciliation Week, a time to reflect on our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, while also considering how we can all contribute to reconciliation in meaningful ways.

This year’s theme is “All In”, a powerful reminder that reconciliation is not something we simply observe from the sidelines. It calls on all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to building respectful relationships, listening, learning, and taking action toward a more inclusive future for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

At Path 2 Change, we recognise the importance of creating safe, supportive spaces where young people feel heard, valued, and connected. We also acknowledge the ongoing impact that disadvantage, intergenerational trauma, and barriers to opportunity continue to have on many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people within our communities.

National Reconciliation Week is an opportunity for all of us to continue learning, reflecting, and standing together in support of reconciliation, not just this week, but every day. 💙

🚗🎉 Congratulations Shakira! 🎉🚗

We are so excited to celebrate Shakira, who has officially obtained her Provisional Licence with the support of the Pathway Wheels program! 🙌

While Shakira came to us with many of her driving hours already completed, Pathway Wheels was able to provide the consistent lessons and support needed to help build her confidence behind the wheel and feel ready to take on her driving test.

That hard work and determination has now paid off, and we could not be prouder of her achievement. Obtaining a licence brings so much more than the ability to drive. It provides freedom, independence, and access to new opportunities for the future.

Shakira, congratulations on this incredible milestone. We are so proud of you and cannot wait to see all the amazing things ahead for you 💙

💙🌟 Connecting, Collaborating and Looking Ahead 🌟💙

Recently, our CEO Jenn and Team Leader Sarah had the opportunity to attend the Business Social, organised by our charity partners Hunter Young Professionals in collaboration with Newcastle Business Club, Committee for the Hunter, and Business Hunter.

The evening brought together professionals, business leaders, and industry representatives from across the Hunter to discuss connection, capability, workforce development, and the future of our region.

A key focus of the event was the University of Newcastle’s Looking Ahead 2030 direction and the importance of strengthening collaboration between education, industry, and community organisations to help shape future workforce pathways and opportunities.

For Path 2 Change, events like this are incredibly valuable. Building strong community and business connections helps create more opportunities for the young people we support who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Whether it is employment pathways, education opportunities, mentorship, or community support, collaboration plays such an important role in creating brighter futures.

A huge thank you to Hunter Young Professionals and all partner organisations involved in hosting such a meaningful and forward-thinking event. We are grateful to be part of these important conversations about the future of our region and the young people within it 💙
