The Southport and Districts Orchid Society has its winter show coming up on Saturday, the 4th of July. This is a one-day show. Benching will be on the 3rd of July. With all of our normal wonderful vendors in attendance, we will have potting demonstrations for everyone to enjoy. A great way for newer growers to learn more about growing their orchids. We are looking forward to seeing you there.

Ivan Dennis

Dear members and former members, it is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the recent passing of our friend Ivan Dennis. Ivan was a founding member of our club, often judging at our monthly meetings, always willing to share his deep knowledge of the orchids we all love. He was an active participant at all our shows and regularly brought stunning plants to the meetings for us to purchase. I attach a photo of Ivan with our Patron, Councilor Peter Young, and our President Leon van Bael taken at our Christmas party in 2023. His funeral has already taken place with just family at their request. VALE Ivan, may you rest in peace, you will be missed by all of us xx
