With the New Year not far from coming in, we want to wish you all a happy end to 25 and hope 26 is everything you want it to be.

I am not one for making resolutions but New Years Eve is the best time to think about what our next chapter in our life story will be.

25 has already been written and we can’t erase that but 26 leaves us blank pages to write our story as we see fit.
Be kind to yourself, be kind to others and start writing the best chapter of your life.

I know that’s my plan.

Last Sunday Forge Through hosted its ninth annual social fishing day at Lake Conjola.

Although it’s a fishing event its main purpose is to build relationships and a community whilst educating veterans and first responders in the art of fishing. With the addition of bit if healthy competition thrown in.

As always the sponsorship from the fishing industry and local business was overwhelming. Their generosity allows us to provide the necessary tools to continue on with their fishing after the event. With each veteran/first responder taking away a rod and reel combo and a grab bag full of goodies and lures.

This event is also one of our major fund raising events for the program through our raffle and auctions on the day. This year raising a whopping $5990.00 for the program. Without the generous sponsorship we would have very little to raffle.

The lads have loaded up and are out trying to catch a bunch in the pursuit of the coveted Forge Through Fishing Trophy.

It’s a spectacular day on Lake Conjola and I think there will be some nice fish coming over the sides today.

Let’s see how they go.

With one week to go for the annual Forge Through Fishing Days, the sponsors prizes are coming in.

It’s humbling to see so much support out there for our veterans and first responders.

We are approaching the pointy end of the preparation for the annual Forge Through Fishing Day being held at Lake Conjola on the 14th December 2025.

If you haven’t registered your interest and you are keen it’s not too late. Not many spots left on what has to be the best fishing day of the year.

We just wrapped up another Forge Through Program hosting four veterans at Bolaro Forge.
Two and a half days of forging knives and friendships is a wonder experience for the soul. Laughs around the fire, beating steel and raising a sweat, and perhaps a little anxiety as the knife gets closer to completion. 😉
These gents certainly made some heirloom pieces that they will get a lifetime of use from.
How good do they look!!!

2025 Forge Through Fishing Day.

It’s that time of year and we are prepping for the annual fishing day. This year we are throwing a bit of a spin on it.

Over the last few years people have demonstrated their keenness to run it on another waterway. So we thought, why not.
I approached the Ingenia Big 4 at Lake Conjola and they were super keen to host it.

They have set aside an area of the park for those who want to camp and make a weekend out of it which we are hoping a few are keen to do. Gina and I are staying for five nights over the comp. We are booked on site B1.

We have a stretch of bank we can beach the boats on and host the event with just a short push to the deeper lake.

If anyone wants to book a site, let them know you are with Forge Through and they will look after you.

I am super keen for this years event.
Start letting me know if you’re in as a boater or non boater.

More info to come but lock those dates in crew.

We just wrapped up another successful forge through program here at Bolaro. As usual we had a first responder and military veteran attending the program for a couple of nights.

What was special about this program was that we had our first CAD Combat Assault Dog (Manic) on course, he brought Pricey along with him for the ride. 😉

It was very special to witness that bond between two team mates that have been through the thick of it.

It’s always a privilege to meet and guide these wonderful individuals through the program.

In July 2017 the first official Forge Through Program was hosted at Bolaro Forge. Eight years later we continue to deliver support to the veteran/first responder community.

Since that time over 250 veterans and first responders have passed through the doors of the forge and have,in a lot of cases, experienced a life changing program.

We continue to deliver programs as often as we can as we continue to build a self sustained workshop and accomodation facility on our property.

We are a registered charity with DGR status so if you are in a position to assist or know of any likely corporate assistance that could help secure the future of the program please let us know.

Eight years down with hopefully many more to follow.
