Thank You Whitehaven Coal 👏
Our ability to provide children across the Narrabri Shire with a book each month between the ages of 0 and 5 hinges on the generosity of our community.
When we asked Darren Swain, General Manager - Community Engagement at Whitehaven Coal, for support, it was an instant “yes”.
Darren shared that reading to his children had always been a priority - and a joy - and that one of the best ways to give children a strong start in life is by building early literacy skills and school readiness.
Whitehaven Coal has been incredibly generous in supporting our local Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program, and we are so grateful.
Darren has recently retired from Whitehaven to focus on farming with his family - and, by the look of these photos, spending more time reading with his grandchildren.
Thank you Darren, and thank you Whitehaven, for investing in the future of every child in our Shire.
