Exhibition of the draft plan has now closed.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to comment, provide feedback and complete the survey.

All suggestions and responses will now be carefully considered as part of the process to update the plan.

Once finalised, the plan will be considered and will need to be approved by the Minister for Lands before it is published.

We appreciate the community’s input and ongoing interest.

Community feedback heard: 10 boat limit to remain

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to provide feedback on the draft Yarrie Lake Plan, which is available at www.yarrielaketrust.com.au.

During the first week of consultation, we have heard clear feedback from community members concerned about the proposal to reduce the number of boats on Yarrie Lake from 10 to 5 at any one time.

The draft plan sought to balance recreation with the environmental values of the Crown reserve. However, it is clear the community does not support changing the current 10 boat limit.

Based on this feedback, the intention is that the final plan submitted to the Minister for Lands will retain the current 10 boat limit. No change to this policy is proposed.

All feedback is appreciated and will continue to help shape the final plan.

The draft plan remains on public exhibition until 1 June.

We are getting ready to release the draft Yarrie Lake Plan for public consultation before ANZAC Day.

This will be an opportunity for the community to see how earlier feedback has helped shape the draft, and to have a say on the ideas and proposals for the future of Yarrie Lake.

We will also be holding a number of local sessions where people can come along, ask questions, read the draft plan and share their thoughts.

Yarrie Lake means a lot to many people, and we look forward to hearing from locals and the wider community as this next stage gets underway.

Apologies for being a little quiet recently - we’ve been busy working behind the scenes on the draft Plan of Management for Yarrie Lake.

The community visioning process showed a strong level of care for Yarrie Lake, with people sharing a wide range of views based on how they use and value the lake.

The Trust has prepared an initial response that explains how the key issues raised will be considered and progressed as the Plan of Management is refined ahead of public exhibition in early 2026.

As part of our commitment to openness and transparency, we have also published a previously unreleased technical report on bore water testing, which informed past investigations.
