Aprons on! 🔥 Café Kick Start is coming to CCNI’s Inverell campus.

There’s only so much you can learn sitting in a classroom. But with our new hands-on Foundation Skills program, you’ll start by creating simple dishes, build skills for work as the menu grows, then bring it all together in a final food service!

And according to CCNI hospitality trainer Brodie Smith, you don’t need to arrive knowing your way around a kitchen. “Just do it! It can all be taught.”

From first dish to final service, click below to see what’s cooking at CCNI.

The course is fully funded for eligible students under the Ensuring Access to Foundation Skills Training program.

Ensuring Access to Foundation Skills Training is a joint initiative between the Australian and New South Wales governments.

There was a fantastic energy at CCNI’s Inverell campus on Friday as learners, staff and the wider community came together to celebrate Adult Learners Week. 🧭🎉

It was a morning filled with conversation, connection, laughter and plenty of smiles, as we showcased learning for life!

Students undertaking training in workplace skills put their learning into action, preparing and serving coffee and a light brunch for guests, while 2026 Adult Learning Australia Learning Ambassador Tahnee Capon shared some powerful words about her own learning journey and the support that helped her along the way.

We were delighted to share the morning with Inverell Mayor Kate Dight, Deputy Mayor and CCNI Board Member Jo Williams, CCNI CEO Melanie Squires, along with our trainers, staff, employers, families and friends.

Here’s to following your compass — wherever learning takes you next. 🧭

A top 20 finish and a well-earned coffee break!

CCNI Inverell has been named one of the Top 20 finalists nationally in the Winc Australia and Nescafé 'Brew Your Dream Breakroom' competition with Nestlé Professional.

Our prize has now arrived, with Senior Campus Coordinator Tania Archer taking delivery of a 'Take a Break' hamper for the campus.

"We’re looking forward to sharing plenty of coffee break moments with our learners and staff—and putting our prize to good use!" ☕

Congratulations to the lucky winner, Collymongle Ginning, and thank you to Winc Australia and Nescafé for recognising the importance of creating welcoming spaces where people can connect, recharge and enjoy a well-earned break.
