In 2024, Powerlink Queensland helped bring our commercial kitchen upgrade to life, creating a valuable asset for our volunteers, events, and wider community. Then, in late 2025, we were fortunate to secure additional funding for further kitchen improvements.

When an unexpected fridge failure threatened to derail our plans, Powerlink worked with us to adjust the project scope so we could direct the funding where it was needed most. Thanks to their flexibility and understanding, we were able to purchase a brand-new commercial fridge for the Showgrounds.

It's support like this that helps us maintain and improve our facilities, ensuring the Showgrounds remain a valuable community asset for years to come.

A big thank you to FRRR for helping us prepare for more than just Show day. The Mount Larcom Showgrounds are at the heart of our community, and when challenging times arise, they can play an important role in supporting disaster response and recovery efforts.

Thanks to FRRRโ€™s generous support, we have recently added a commercial fridge, extra shade structures, and eskies to our facilities. These practical additions will help us better support volunteers, emergency services personnel, community members, and animals by improving the storage of food, drinks, medications, and other essential supplies, while also providing much-needed shade during extreme weather and prolonged response activities.

While we all hope these resources are rarely needed, having them in place means our community will be better equipped, better prepared, and ready to lend a hand when it matters most.

A huge thank you to our wonderful supporters at CQ Stockfeeds & Rural for their generous donation of 50 new livestock panels and 10 gates to the Mt Larcom Showgrounds.

This incredible contribution will be a fantastic asset for our smaller livestock events, helping us provide safe, practical and well-equipped facilities for exhibitors and animals.

Beyond Show weekend, these panels and gates will also strengthen the Showgroundsโ€™ ability to support our wider community during emergency and disaster situations, providing valuable infrastructure when itโ€™s needed most.

We are incredibly grateful for your generosity, community spirit and ongoing support. Thank you for helping us build a stronger, more resilient Showgrounds for everyone.
