WA Rovers

WA Rovers The official page for all West Australian Rover Scouts. Rover Scouts are the final youth section of the Scout Movement.

It is made up of young adults between the ages of 18 and 26. Rover Scouts are huge all over Australia and here in WA we have over 200 members. The section provides our age group the chance to develop skills valuable in adult life, as well as any adventure you could think possible, from 4x4ing, caving, sky diving, SCUBA diving, hiking, camping, sailing, gliding and anything else you can imagine! Ou

r section is self governing and we are responsible for anything we want to do. As a result you can do anything you have ever wanted with the support of some older members called Rover Advisors. Being self governing also gives you the opportunity to develop skills in Leadership, initiative and project management, very valuable for many careers. The section is oriented around Service, so most of the activities we do have a service element to them, whether its service to the community or to Scouting in general. Service might sound a bit dull but it's really not when you're with 100+ mates!!! For 77 years our section has in WA has been the Vigil and Honor Guard at the King's Park State ANZAC service, every year we head down to Vasse for a bit of service and beach time, run massive camps for 200+ competitors as well as so much more! So if you are looking for as much fun and adventure as you can handle, then Rover Scouts is the place to be!

May Moot was an action packed weekend of Western themed activities and games run at GIngin Scout hall. WA Rovers turned into Cowboys and Cowgirls from Friday the 22nd of May to Sunday the 24th. With challenges such as co****le, activities such as line dancing, a quiz night, live band and a bonfire to keep everyone warm, the weekend was a great success. Yeehaw!

The Personal development course is an awesome way to learn new skills within scouting and helping manage your unit as well making heaps of new friends. This course is apart of the new training for youth members of scouts Australia to earn your personal development badge for your peak award.
 
All meals will be provide for Saturday and Sunday please have dinner before before you arrive on the Friday night. Please bring along all sleeping gear you will need you will be sleeping in the hall. Full uniform must be worn for opening and closing, casual camp clothes will be worn through out the rest of the weekend.
 
Please bring along something that you’ll be able to take note on.
