Today EERN volunteers John, Gabby, Ken and Jeni did a tour of the Foodbank Altona warehouse. Foodbank do an amazing job sourcing fresh and non-perishable items to support 500 charities across Victoria. They also run a Schools Breakfast Program in over 1400 schools with the support of Victoria Government. We are very grateful for our partnership.

Tonight President John Pullen and secretary Gabby attended a grants presentation event with Nunawading Lions. Lions are a long term supporter of EERN. We received a grant to purchase bedding. This is a very high demand area for us. We were also presented with a Community Service Award for our work and contribution to community. Very grateful thank you.

Tonight we attended the Deakin Community Awards at Whitefriars College..we were overjoyed to win the Volunteer Impact Award..so many great nominees. Our President John and past treasurer/committee member Ian T were nominated for the Heart of Community award. For some years, we have partnered with StreetSmart Australia securing sleepsafe kits to give to people who need them most. Not only that, StreetSmart has very generously donated funding for us to continue to provide emergency relief to clients. Recently, we gratefully received $5,000. We will use this to source non perishable food, pillows/doonas and other emergency items. Thank you StreetSmart...you are amazing!

Last year, we were delighted to receive a $7,000 grant from the Blackburn United Lodge No 915 supported by the Freemasons Foundation to purchase much needed pillows, queen size sheet sets and doonas plus microwaves to support our agencies and clients.
