🌴🏏 FROM CROQUET MALLETS TO THE GOLD COAST – THANK YOU, HANNA'S SPONSORS! 🏏🌴

As Hanna Fincham prepares to represent St John WA and Western Australia at the Australasian Police & Emergency Services Games on the Gold Coast, we'd like to take a moment to recognise the incredible businesses and organisations that made this journey possible.

A huge THANK YOU to Hanna's generous sponsors:

🚑🥇 FROM AMBULANCES TO CROQUET MALLETS! 🏑😂

Who said emergency services personnel can’t be dangerous with a mallet?! 👀

A massive CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD LUCK to our very own CATO Officer Hanna Fincham, who is heading to sunny Queensland to compete in the Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games! 🎉

Hanna will be proudly representing St John WA in the croquet competition! 🏆

We’re used to seeing Hanna working hard in the world of emergency services, but this time she’s swapping the usual duties for a mallet, a few balls and hopefully a medal or two! 🥇😉

From all of us at St John WA – Merredin, we’re incredibly proud of you, Hanna!

💚 Give it your best shot, have an amazing time and show Queensland what WA is made of!

👏 Everyone, join us in wishing Hanna the very best of luck!

💚🚑 HAPPY FATHER’S DAY FROM ST JOHN WA – MERREDIN! 🚑💚

Today we’re celebrating all the amazing dads, grandads, stepdads, father figures and special blokes who are always there when they’re needed. 💚

A special shout-out to the dads within our own St John family who somehow manage to juggle family life, work, volunteering and the occasional phone call going off at the worst possible time! 😅🚑

Thank you for the early mornings, late nights, terrible dad jokes, endless advice and for always showing up — both for your families and for our community.

From all of us at St John WA – Merredin, we hope you have a fantastic Father’s Day.

💚 Happy Father’s Day, legends! 💚

🌿 Yarning First Aid in Action!

On Thursday, some of our Northam and Merredin Admin crew took a trip to St John WA HQ for a catch‑up with Lucy La Cunza, who’s championing the incredible Yarning First Aid program.

Developed through three years of consultation, Yarning First Aid is a practical, culturally safe, hands‑on training program designed for First Nations communities — and delivered by First Nations facilitators. It’s all about building trust, confidence, and connection when learning life‑saving skills.

Our team also toured the State Control Centre, where 000 calls are answered — a fascinating look behind the scenes at how emergency responses come together.

We’re proud to support this initiative as it moves into pilot delivery in the Kimberley, helping train local facilitators, create employment pathways, and strengthen first‑aid capability across Western Australia.

💚 A huge thanks to Lucy and the St John WA team for leading such meaningful work!

🚑🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALAN! 🎉🚑

Another year older, another year wiser… although we’re still waiting for the evidence on that second part. 😜

Today we’re celebrating our favourite paramedic, Alan. The man who can handle emergencies, calm chaotic situations, and somehow survive working with the rest of us every day. That’s a special skill all on its own!

We’d like to say he’s getting better with age, but we’re pretty sure he’s just getting more experienced at hiding it. 😂

Please join us in wishing Alan a fantastic birthday. May your coffee be strong, your shift be quiet, and may nobody decide today is a good day to test your ambulance-driving skills.

Have a ripper day, Alan — you’ve earned it! 🎂🍻🚑
