It has been a quiet winter season for rescues. We know it increases during the warmer months so we have focused this time on training and maintenance in preparation for a potentially busy holiday period. Avoid a rescue by checking your equipment and use this time to clean or replace your safety gear.

Adorable picture of one of the local residents for attention 😀

Well done to our Deputy Unit Commander of operations (DUCO), Stewart Dietrich, for tackling winter water temperatures to assist with the air berth transport on the weekend. What an amazing sight to see these airberths move via crane for some regular health check requirements. Huge thanks to all involved, it was a team effort 👌 💪

Here are a couple of pictures where MB20 is ferrying the two air berths to the public boat ramp. They will be craned onto trucks to be taken away for some maintenance.

Can you spot a seal on one enjoying the ride.. ?

This week our Unit Commander Bill Blakeman and our Grants Officer Kristine went to the ClubGrants presentation. Marine Rescue Merimbula were successful in receiving a grant for a Training MFD (Multi Function Display) unit for crew to learn how to use the onboard navigation system on our vessels. Both Merimbula RSL and Club Sapphire contributed the funds and our unit is very much appreciative of everything that has gone towards improving our service to the community. Thank you!!
