Something colorful is coming to Gaza!

That's why we're introducing our Psychosocial workshop for children in Gaza. It a creative wellbeing program where children can draw, paint, write and tell stories, guided by experienced local facilitators.

We received a voice message from Dr Medhat Abbas, Director of Gaza's ministry of Health, and our hearts broke listening to it.

He told us about hospitals running without enough power, patients in pain with no painkillers, and people with treatable illnesses who cant get care.

Nearly half of Gaza's essential medicines are at zero stock.

Follow the signs in most hospitals and you’ll find the MRI, the intensive care unit, the wards.

In Gaza, the signs lead almost nowhere. There isn’t a single MRI scanner left for more than 2 million people. Intensive care has just 104 beds. And in North Gaza, there are no hospital beds at all.

When specialised care isn’t there to find, the hospitals that remain have to carry everything.

The treatment exists. The medicine has been made. The specialist is trained. The hospital bed is there, just not in Gaza.

For tens of thousands of patients in Gaza, the problem isn't that their condition can't be treated. It's that they can't reach the place where it can be.

Needing treatment and being able to access it are not the same thing. Until that changes, our work inside Gaza must continue.

For most of us, getting to a hospital is a short drive. For a patient in Gaza, it looks more like a maze. A permit that's still pending. A crossing that's closed.
