Most of us assume inheritance means an equal split. Islam already decided otherwise, for a reason.

Fara'id gives spouses, children and parents fixed shares, based on the obligations they carry, not how much they're loved. A son and a daughter don't always get the same amount, and that's not unfairness, it's balance.
