Peli’s is open.

No sides.
No politics.
Just a place for the community.

We are aware of recent commentary regarding the Peli’s joint venture.

LSBC remains committed to the current agreement and to working through matters in the proper way. A formal request has been issued to LSFA seeking a clear written position on the matters they wish to discuss, so both committees can consider them properly.

Social media is not the place for committee meetings or decision-making.

In the meantime, Peli’s will continue to operate as a welcoming space for the whole Loch Sport community.

Come down, enjoy the space, and be part of it.

Peli’s – Community Clarification

We’ve seen a number of comments and questions recently regarding the Peli’s joint venture and would like to clarify the position.

Peli’s was initiated by the Loch Sport Boat Club and brought forward to members of both LSBC and LSFA as a 24-month trial collaboration. That proposal was supported by members with a clear understanding that:
• LSBC retains control of the lease and liquor licence
• Both clubs operate independently
• A shared Subcommittee (SC) manages day-to-day operations
• The arrangement is reviewed at the end of the agreed trial period

These principles were formalised in the signed Licence Agreement, which is the governing document for how the joint venture operates.

Earlier “guiding principles” documents helped inform initial discussions, however they are not the agreed or binding framework. The signed agreement is the document that both clubs are operating under.

LSBC continues to act in accordance with that agreement.
LSBC has not refused a meeting. We have consistently advised that a joint meeting can occur once the matters for discussion are provided in writing, so both committees can properly consider them and have a constructive and informed discussion.

These requests have previously been made via email, however to date no formal written position has been provided by the LSFA Committee. A formal request has now been issued today by the LSBC Committee to progress this.

We also note that the LSFA disabled access to the previous Peli’s page and some promotional signage has been removed by LSFA. As a result, LSBC has established a new Facebook Peli's page to ensure the community continues to receive accurate and up-to-date information.

We understand there has been some confusion created through recent commentary. However, social media is not the forum for committee discussions or decision-making. These matters are best addressed through the agreed processes between both clubs.

While LSFA has chosen to step back from volunteering and participating at this time, Peli’s will continue to operate, and we welcome the community to continue supporting the venue.

Our focus remains simple:
• Keep Peli’s open and active
• Provide a welcoming community space
• Operate responsibly and consistently
• Work through matters in a structured and transparent way

We thank everyone who has supported Peli’s to date and encourage you to continue being part of its future.

Peli’s – Community Update

Peli’s was initiated by the Loch Sport Boat Club and has grown through the contributions of volunteers from Loch Sport Boat Club Inc (LSBC), Loch Sport Fishing Assn (LSFA), and the wider community.

The joint venture was established under a 24-month trial agreement, with the shared intention of building a stronger, more unified club environment for the benefit of the Loch Sport community.

That agreement remains in place and continues to guide how the venue operates.

As the lease holder and licence holder, LSBC has a responsibility to ensure the venue operates appropriately and in line with its obligations. This includes maintaining oversight of operations and ensuring activities are conducted in a consistent and responsible manner.

While LSFA has recently advised they are stepping back from volunteering at this time, this is their decision. The venue itself remains open, active, and welcoming to the community.

LSBC has not declined a joint meeting. As previously communicated, we are open to meeting once clear agenda items and matters for discussion are provided in writing so both committees can properly consider them. To date, this has not been formally received.

The original intent of the agreement was to explore opportunities for closer alignment and a more unified future. At this stage, LSBC remains committed to that intent and to working constructively within the agreed framework.

We acknowledge and appreciate the contribution of all volunteers over the past 15 months. Peli’s has grown because of the effort of many people across the community.

Our focus remains on:
• Keeping the venue open and active
• Providing a welcoming space for locals and visitors
• Operating in a stable and responsible manner
• Continuing to build community engagement

Peli’s will continue to host regular activities and events, and we encourage everyone to come down, get involved, and enjoy the space.
