Riddells Creek Neighbourhood House is hosting a relaxed weekly craft group for grandparents and preschool-aged children.
Enjoy this great opportunity to get creative, connect and spend quality time together.

Wednesdays, 1–2pm | $5 per person/family

🎨 Grandparents and grandkids — looking for something fun to do together?

If you’re looking after a preschool-aged grandchild on Wednesdays, why not come along and enjoy an hour of crafting, creating and connecting together at Riddells Creek Neighbourhood House? 💛

Our new social craft group is a relaxed, welcoming space where grandparents and their grandchildren can spend some creative time together, meet other local families and enjoy trying something new each week.

💛 Come along and have some fun together!

The activities are designed with preschoolers in mind, with plenty of opportunity for grandparents and grandchildren to create side-by-side — or simply enjoy watching their little ones explore and make.

And don’t worry if you’re not “crafty”! It’s not about making something perfect. It’s about having a go, spending time together and enjoying the experience.

Join us for a special morning tea and art session with local artist Jacquilyn Smith. It’s a chance to take some time for yourself, connect with others, enjoy a cuppa and get creative in a welcoming and relaxed environment 🎨

International Day of Older People | 1 October

What’s on your doorstep can make a real difference to how you experience your local community.

From parks and libraries to community centres, social groups, health services and local activities, the places and connections around us can help us stay active, connected and involved as we age.

Today, we’re celebrating the older people who help make our community stronger, as well as the people, places and services that help foster a sense of belonging.

We also recognise that these opportunities aren’t equally accessible to everyone. As a council, we’re committed to understanding and addressing the barriers that can make it harder for people to access the places and connections that matter.

This International Day of Older People, take a moment to ask: what’s on my doorstep? And how can we make sure everyone can access it?

💙 Together, we can help create a community where people of all ages feel connected, included and able to participate.
