We are excited to announce….
OUR NEW GROUP LEADER, DIANA! 👏🏻

Diana joined us last year as a Section Leader and has now put her hand up to lead the Group into its next adventure! 🙋🏻‍♀️ she’s currently learning the ropes and already hitting the ground running 🎉

Please help us to welcome her in her new role and we appreciate your patience during the transition, there’s lots of fun new things for her to learn! 📚

We are so lucky to have a full team of Leaders and they have lots of fun planned for the rest of the year! 🏕️

Volunteering with Scouts gives you so much more than you might expect. It gives you a community that has your back, skills you carry into every part of your life, and the deep satisfaction of knowing the time you give genuinely shapes young people for the better. Group Leader Update from Jesse Mitchell:

Dear Ky Scouts Community,

The time has come for me to formally step down from my Group Leader role. Over the past couple of years, I have been stepping back from leader responsibilities and with the support of the amazing leaders of our group, I have been able to continue as GL and contribute as best I can.

Unfortunately, this has meant that you have not had a group leader that can commit the time, energy and passion that the group deserves. So now, it is time for me to create space for someone new to come and lead the group so we can continue to grow and serve our community.

Being the group leader of Kyabram Scouts has been both an honour and a privilege, from the people I’ve met and the activities I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of - leaving this role makes me feel like I’m leaving a part of myself that I never knew that I needed. Becoming part of this group gave me a place in our community, beautiful friendships and fun memories, and for that I will be forever grateful. I am so proud to wear this uniform and be a Kyabram Scout.

I just want to say a huge thank you to the leaders who have stepped up and filled the gaps over the last couple of years while I have been working on different things. I couldn’t have done it without you. I am so proud of everything we have achieved and the commitment and passion you have for our group and youth.

Kyabram Scout Group have the best leaders and supporters and helpers, we couldn’t do what we do without you.

Whoever steps into this role will find themselves part of something contagious, surrounded with motivated and passionate volunteers, and championing a group that’s over 100 years old.

I encourage anybody who might be looking for a new challenge to reach out to chat about the group leader role. I would love to fill the role from someone within our current scouting community. You don’t have to be a scout, you don’t have to know what you need to do - you just need to be willing to learn and be willing to give it a go. Please reach out via [email protected]

I will always be the biggest supporter of the best scout group there is - and hope to be invited to all of the events and celebrations!

Our youth will be out and about cleaning in Kyabram over the next week to do their bit for Clean Up Australia Day!
