$11,000 has been donated by six local rotary clubs to fund a new scholarship at GV Health.

15/07/2026

Six local Rotary clubs have united to strengthen blood cancer care across the Goulburn Valley.

Thanks to a combined donation of $11,000, the Rotary Clubs of Shepparton, Shepparton Central, Shepparton South, Mooroopna, Tatura and Kyabram are funding a Myeloma Nursing Scholarship at GV Health.

The scholarship will support a GV Health nurse to undertake specialist training in myeloma and haematology nursing, helping more patients access expert blood cancer care closer to home.

As demand for cancer services continues to grow across our region, this investment will help build specialist expertise within our local workforce and improve care for our community.

Thank you to all six Rotary clubs for their generosity and ongoing commitment to supporting local healthcare.

Over the past few months, The Rotary Club of Kyabram has been working with our catchment clubs (Shepparton, Shepparton Central, Shepparton South, Mooroopna and Tatura) in raising funds for a Myleloma scholarship for a nurse to complete further training at GV Health. Just one small part of a larger program to bring and keep medical services in our region.

Last night members travelled over to Shepparton to hear this incredibly interesting forum.

We proudly hosted a Water Leaders Forum for Rotarians and guests tonight 💙

The executives of Goulburn Valley Water, Goulburn Murray Water and Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority discussed the future of water in our region.

A very interesting session about outlooks, current plans and what we can do to support sustainable water use, facilitated by Allen Gale from Rotary Club of Shepparton Central.

Thank you to these leaders Carl Walters, Charmaine Quick and Steve Capewell for taking the time to update us on your work.

It was wonderful to have all local Rotary clubs in the room as well as many guests.

Thank you to Shepparton South Rotary Club for hosting us!
