Get involved in building Kuranda's Own Virtual Museum and Archive!
The Kuranda Historical Society has an online collection management system that allows us to catalogue the details of every image, story and artefact that comes to us. It’s a program called “The Collecting Bug’ and forms the core of the Kuranda Historical Society’s records.
While this collection management system is amazing and we are receiving lots of images to go on there, we also often need to gather of information and stories to go with those images. Anyone who would like to help us research that information and gather data is welcome to come along to our bright and spacious rooms above the Kuranda library and sit with Jan Weaver and our little team to learn how to go about this. It's fun and satisfying, working as a team gathering in the many stories, including video, about our history.
We'd love to see anyone who has beginner level computer skills
We meet every Monday at 1 pm till 3 pm.
