Our Joeys and Scouts had a fantastic afternoon at Carinya Lodge!
It was a wonderful opportunity for our young people to connect with local residents while enjoying dancing, games and plenty of smiles along the way.
A big thank you to everyone at Carinya Lodge for having us. We had an amazing time and can't wait to visit again soon! 😊
What a special afternoon with the Korumburra Scouts and Joeys!
Today was one of those afternoons that reminds us just how powerful community connections can be.
Our residents proudly performed the dance they have been practising to This Is Me from The Greatest Showman alongside members of the Korumburra Scouts and Joeys. There were smiles, laughter, a few happy tears, and plenty of cheering as everyone came together for a truly uplifting performance.
A particularly touching moment came when two Joey Scouts were presented with their scarves and proudly recited their Scout Promise. For many, it was a lovely ceremony, but it held extra significance for one of our residents who was once a Scout Master himself. Watching the next generation take their first steps in Scouting was a special moment to witness.
Of course, the afternoon wasn't finished there! The room quickly shifted gears as residents, Scouts, Joeys and leaders joined together for a raucous and highly competitive game of SCUDS before tea. The noise level may have risen considerably, but so did the fun.
Thank you to everyone from Korumburra Scouts who spent the afternoon with us. The connections formed between young and old are something truly special, and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
