John from Blackbutt Benarkin Lions Club caught up with Brittany during the Lions Club of Taabinga's Free Trade Day here in Kingaroy. Brittany shared how grateful she and her family are to be one of the very first recipients of this incredible community initiative.

Last September, Brittany was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic triple-negative breast cancer, making the support from the community even more meaningful for her young family.

At just 29, alongside her fiancรฉ Arron (24) and their two beautiful children, Owen (4) and little Lucy, who turns 2 in July, Brittany said the safety improvements being carried out mean so much to their family.

โ€œThis is their childhood homeโ€ฆ how it is, and how they will remember it, is very important to us,โ€ Brittany said.

โ€œTo have things fixed up for the kidsโ€ฆ to have a safe place for them to playโ€ฆ it means a lot.โ€ โค๏ธ

A beautiful reminder of what community, kindness and neighbours helping neighbours is all about.

What started in NSW over 9 years ago, we are so blessed that Queenslandโ€™s very first Free Trade Day was held right here in Kingaroy.

We were incredibly blessed to welcome Ryan, the founder of the Free Trade Day , along with Teresa from Lions Club of Green Point Avoca NSW, to Queenslandโ€™s very first Free Trade Day, right here in Kingaroy last Friday.

What began as one idea to help families and people in need has grown into something truly specialโ€ฆ tradies donating their time, businesses backing the cause, and communities coming together to make a real difference.

This reel is a beautiful reminder of how it all started, and the people whose vision and passion helped spark a movement that continues to change lives.

Open Letter from Taabinga Lions Club President Tim, the main man of the day

When Glen from Daydream Homes was rebuilding Britneyโ€™s deck during the Kingaroy Free Trade Day, the team uncovered additional timber that was unsafe and needed replacing. It could have easily slowed the whole project down.

One phone call later and the legends at Total Building Solutions jumped into action. ๐Ÿ’ช

Not only had they already donated the majority of the materials for Britneyโ€™s new deck, but Krista and Jason organised more supplies immediately and had them delivered within the hour so the tradies could keep going and Britneyโ€™s family wouldnโ€™t be left waiting.

From the overwhelming response to nominations, sponsorships, volunteers and tradies putting their hands up to help, the support shown across the region has been nothing short of amazing.

What started as a simple Facebook callout quickly grew into a powerful community movement, with local businesses, tradies and volunteers coming together to help families doing it tough.

Thanks to that generosity, eight local recipients received support through Queenslandโ€™s very first Free Trade Day, here in Kingaroy.

When John Campbell from the Blackbutt Benarkin Lions Club caught up with Morgan from STAG Excavation and Landscaping during Queenslandโ€™s first Free Trade Day on Friday, he shared how his wife, Jess, first came across the initiative and from there they simply wanted to help.

Morgan spoke about the importance of tradies, businesses and communities all coming together to support families and neighbours.

For Morgan and the team, it was about helping create a safer space for kids to run and play, while giving a helping hand to a local family in need.
