Thank you to all our wonderful guests who attended High Tea by the Sea. We loved hosting you all.
Through your generosity we raised over $1800 to be donated to Pancreatic Cancer research through the CWA Medical Research Fund.
We also raised close to $4000, which will be used to support KEB CWA and causes supported by the branch.

Access to healthcare should never depend on your postcode. For too long, people living in regional, rural and remote NSW have been expected to accept fewer healthcare services, longer wait times and greater travel simply because of where they live.
Close to 25% of NSW lives in a regional, rural or remote community and like our 8000 members they have seen local health services disappear, maternity units close, GP shortages worsen and families forced to travel hundreds of kilometres for care that metropolitan communities take for granted.
The rural health crisis is not inevitable, and it is not acceptable.
The CWA of NSW says enough is enough. Now is the time for governments to invest in better healthcare, closer to home.
Stop normalising the rural health crisis. Start fixing it.

Stop normalising the rural health crisis. Start fixing it

We call on the NSW Government to improve access to quality healthcare for people living in regional, rural and remote NSW by supporting the adoption and implementation of The Rural Health Action Plan. The Plan, authored by Dr Joe McGirr, is a roadmap for turning things around — not with a big restructure with an unrealistic price tag, but simple, common-sense reforms that put people first and redirect funds to be more effective.

People in rural and regional NSW are being failed by a health system that is under-resourced, unaccountable and dangerously dependent on short-term fixes.

CWA Awareness Week 2026 is raising awareness of the healthcare challenges facing regional, rural and remote communities and advocating for practical reforms that will deliver better health outcomes across NSW.

To mark the start of CWA Awareness week, Kiama Evening Branch CWA is proud to donate $1000 to Dollar for Dusty in support of the fantastic charity Little Wings. Dusty is aiming to raise money to fly paediatricians to country NSW.

Follow Dollar for Dusty to support this inspirational young man

I want to walk from Warren to Canberra to raise funds for Little Wings so they can bring more paediatricians to the west and help more kids get the help they deserve.
