HAPPY FATHERS DAY

Happy Fathers' Day to all the wonderful fathers, grandfathers, and father figures in our Cooinda family.

Yesterday, we celebrated the incredible men who have shaped our lives with a fantastic courtyard BBQ lunch!

The sun was shining on and off, the weather was warm, the grill was sizzling, and the drinks were flowing- with plenty of ice cold beers, refreshing shandies and soft drinks to go around.

The highlight of the afternoon? A wonderful musical trip down memory lane. We tapped our toes and sang along to old time classics and Dolly Patron tribute songs sung by the incredibly talented Penny and Gavin.

To wrap up a perfect day, everyone treated themselves to a classic drumstick ice-cream for sweets. We capped off the celebrations by presenting all our wonderful men with a father’s day gift and letting them know how special they are.

A huge thank to Haley for the lovely BBQ lunch and all our care team for their support & assistance.

We had the most delightful morning on Thursday
with a delicious high tea at The Farmhouse Illabo.

Everyone caught up over freshly brewed tea or coffee, enjoying a delicious spread of fluffy scones, sweet slices, assorted sandwiches, and warm mini sausages rolls.
We really were spolit for choice.
With enough food to feed all at Cooinda Court! We were able to bring some treats home to share. It was a lovely morning filled with wonderful hospitality, scrumptious treats, bright smiles and even better conversations.

We sincerely thank Fujimi for beautiful cooking and warm hospitality, Sue for her care & support & Col Randall for transporting our residents to & from.

Nothing like a fresh brew and good company!
Once again some of our lovely residents to a morning drive down town to visit one of their favourite coffee shops.
Brew 102. Our residents love getting out and about with regular trips downtown.
Barista style coffee tastes even better when shared with friends.
This morning was all about slowing down, enjoying life's simple pleasures and getting out and making the most of a beautiful sunny morning 🌟

Sweet Memories & Chocolate Crackles 🍫
Our dining room turned into a large kitchen as residents gathered for a hands-on cooking session to make the Aussie classic- Chocolate Crackles. Reading the recipe from the Kelloggs Rice Bubble box. For many of our residents, the simple mix of rice bubbles, cocoa, and chopa brought back a wave of nostalgia. As we stirred the mix together memories of children's birthday parties and school fetes and baking with children and grandchildren.
Cooking activities like this are fantastic for our community. They spark beautiful memories and, most importantly, bring our family together. Providing a wonderful sensory and social experience. The best part was tasting chocolate crackles for afternoon 😋 tea. Thank you to Luke & Alizah for joining the Fun!

Not quite clear, Skye's but great company!
Our men's group had a great day out. We loaded up the bus and headed to the Temora Aviation Museum, for a morning of exploring vintage aircraft, sharing old stories, and talking shop about classic engines and aviation history.
After working up an appetite walking the hangar floor, we headed down to the local hotel for a hearty pub meal and an ale, w**e or cold drink, plenty of laughs and mateship.
Days like this are what it's all about. Staying connected, embracing the community and mateship. A big thank you to the Temora Aviation Museum volunteers and the Temora hotel for making us so welcome. ✈️🛩
