🌾 RDA supporting local agriculture in the Scenic Rim!

It's a great day in Boonah, with our Women in Agriculture project bringing Farm Business Management training to the local agricultural community.

Delivered in partnership with UQSkills, the four-day program brings local women together to strengthen their business management skills, share experiences and explore new ideas.

And today's session started with a conversation!

Participants were asked what they wanted to gain from the training and how they could work together to create a positive learning environment.

From business planning, budgeting and succession planning to communication, respect and collaboration, there was plenty to discuss!

It was a fitting introduction to the day's first topic — effective communication and valuing different perspectives within family agricultural businesses.

20 women have already completed our Farm Business Management workshops — now we’re bringing the program to Boonah!

Women from farms and agricultural businesses across the region have already taken part, and the feedback has been extremely positive.

Don’t be put off by the words “Farm Business Management”. This isn’t formal academic-style training. It’s a relaxed, practical four-day quality workshop delivered by UQSkills, with plenty of conversation, real-world examples and useful skills you can take back to your own farm business.

Come in your farm clothes or office clothes — all welcome!

Learn new skills, enjoy the company of other regional women and spend four days working on the business side of farming.

🌾 Missed Out Last Time? We’re Back in Boonah!

After recently celebrating the graduates of our Farm Business Management Skillset – including participants from our Gatton and Esk programs – it was pretty special to see just how much our participants took away from the training. 🎓🌱

And with continued demand for the program, we thought… why not give our Scenic Rim agricultural community another opportunity to get involved? 🙌

So, we’re bringing the FREE Farm Business Management Skillset back to Boonah this October!

Designed for eligible agricultural business owners and managers, this nationally accredited training gets into the real-world business side of farming, including:

🤝 Succession planning
📊 Business performance
⚠️ Risk management and planning for the future

The four-day program provides participants with a Statement of Attainment for four Diploma-level units – and if the success of our recent graduates is anything to go by, there’s plenty to be gained beyond the qualification too. 💚

Two successful workshops. Two groups of regional women. Now it’s BOONAH’s turn!

Women from across our region have already completed the Farm Business Management program in Gatton & Esk — and there’s one thing we want future participants to know:

It’s not formal academic training. It’s a relaxed, practical workshop where you learn through conversation and real-world examples.

You don’t need to be an academic, a business expert or a computer whiz. And, it's free for eligible women.

This is a relaxed, practical four-day conversational workshop for women involved in agriculture. Designed to build confidence in the everyday business side of farming.

You’ll learn alongside other regional women in a friendly, supportive environment and take practical skills back to your own farm business.

After two successful workshops in Gatton and Esk, and a wonderful graduation celebrating our previous participants, we’re bringing the program to Boonah:
