Elke and I were pleased to help out at the Science & Engineering Challenge - Macarthur on Friday 5 June at Thomas Reddall High School. The S&EC is a program run by Newcastle University aimed at promoting interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics subjects in Year 8, 9 and 10 students with the aim of having them select STEM subjects in Years 11 and 12 as they complete high school.
There were 5 schools at this year's S&EC
Thomas Reddall High School
Robert Townsend High School
Ingleburn High School
St Benedicts College
Broughton Anglican College

Broughton Anglican College won the day, but it was a close call among all the schools. I've since been advised that Broughton has qualified for the State Final of S&EC to be held in Newcastle later in the year.

Rotarians Drew and Peter proudly represented the Rotary Club of Ingleburn at the official 2026 launch for one of our community's most impactful charities, 24 Hour Fight Against Cancer Macarthur!
As a long-term sponsor, Ingleburn Rotary has stood behind this incredible organization for many years. It is a privilege to support their mission alongside other fantastic local charities that make the Macarthur region so vibrant and caring.

We would also like to say congratulations to Rotarian Jim Carroll on receiving the Avenues of Service Award for embodying Service Above Self across Rotary's core pillars, and to his wife, Julie-Ann Carroll, on her Quiet Achiever’s Award for her tireless, unseen dedication behind the scenes.
Thank you both for making our community a better place. We are so proud to celebrate you! 🫶🏼👏🏼☺️

Our wonderful Rotarian Members and Friends of Rotary spent the morning assembling essential care packages for displaced residents. Each pack is thoughtfully filled with daily hygiene necessities and practical dining essentials. These offer comfort and support where it’s needed most. ❤️
