Robbery & Serious Crime Squad detectives investigating the alleged kidnapping and murder of 85-year-old Chris Baghsarian are appealing for public assistance to identify a man.

It was a lucky escape early this morning for a family who woke to discover a fire burning in their garage.

Firefighters from the and FRNSW arrived quickly, with crews from Galston and Arcadia extinguishing the fire, which is believed to have been caused by an electric vehicle charger.

While there were no smoke alarms in the garage, a working smoke alarm in the hallway activated, allowing the family time to safely evacuate and giving firefighters a chance to extinguish the fire before it spread further into the home.

Remember it's important you have multiple smoke alarms installed throughout your home, particularly in areas where combustible materials may be present.

🚨 Hit & Run 🚨

Hi everyone, looking for anyone who witnessed or has info on a hit and run at Dural, roundabout between Pellitt Lane and Kenthurst Road

Incident occurred around 10:15pm yesterday (Wednesday 27 May 2026) and involved a black Toyota Yaris cross hybrid station wagon, rego ending in 14L.

Other car failed to give way at the roundabout and hit my passenger side.

I’ve filed a police report but hoping for any further information, or even security / dash cam footage.

Just before 9.00pm yesterday evening (Tuesday, 05 May), a 17-year-old male motorcycle rider called Triple Zero (000) to report he had crashed into bush at McCarrs Creek Road, Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.
