W***y Lit Fest is celebrating the life and works of iconic Williamstown writer Ada Cambridge with a special event this Saturday 31 October, marking the centenary year of her death.

One of Australia’s most prolific and popular writers in her day, novelist, poet and memoirist, Ada Cambridge lived in Williamstown from 1893 to 1912. W***y Lit Fest's awards 'The Adas' are named in her honour.

Local creatives are invited to 'Line in the Sand' – an opportunity to network, collaborate and foster community!

As the year closes, it's time to pause, complete and reboot – celebrate your achievements and regroup to clarify priorities for the year ahead. What’s worked? What hasn’t worked? What’s next?

Facilitated by Jumpleads, this event provides time and space for locals to share wisdom, experience and opportunities, as a foundation for more effective collaboration.

Express yourself, learn new skills and test creative ideas in the first Expressive Art Making workshop at Woods Street Arts Space this Saturday 31 October 🎨

Participants of all ages are invited to experiment with different colour combinations, transfer them to paper with aluminium foil, and then cut, arrange, and glue down shapes of their choice.

Facilitated by Augustine Ang, a Brimbank-based artist and qualified Art Therapist. All materials provided. Participants will leave with their artwork.

That's a wrap for Melbourne Fringe 2026 in Hobsons Bay! From circus and art workshops to live music and immersive audio experiences, audiences experienced a diverse multi-arts program in creative spaces and venues across the city.

The new exhibition at Louis Joel Arts & Community 'Past Life' explores themes of memory, place and migration through a mix of photography, moving image, textile, and sculptural works.

In our recent Creative City Stories newsletter, curator Yi Li shared some of the motivations behind the exhibition, including the surprising connections we can make in a fragmented world:

"At a time when public discourse is polarised, and differences are often emphasised over our shared experiences, I think it is important to create space for stories that help us recognise how much we have in common. Our individual experiences may be impacted by different cultural backgrounds, places, and circumstances, but they can resonate with one another in unexpected ways."
