This Tuesday, teams across our organisation came together to recognised IDAHOBIT Day – the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersex Discrimination and Transphobia, and reflect on the role we all play in creating safer, more inclusive communities and workplaces.

This year’s event was hosted from Glenroy HQ and broadcast in a hybrid format across our hubs, with each site getting together to decorate their spaces, sharing a morning tea and discuss what inclusion looks like within their own workplaces and services.

We were fortunate to hear from Max at Minus18, who shared powerful insights into the experiences of LGBTQIA+ young people in Australia, alongside practical advice on active allyship and inclusion.

This year, 23 young people from Youth Projects took part in Larita Academy, a four-day immersive experience designed to build confidence, connection and exposure to new opportunities.

Through hands-on workshops, industry experiences and conversations with leaders across sport, media, hospitality, arts and business, young people were supported to step outside their comfort zones and explore what’s possible for their future. We’re proud to continue creating opportunities that open doors and build real pathways forward for young people.

Today was International Workers Day and we celebrated with a Youth Employment Town Hall - full of connection, laughs and learning!

Our team came together to share, reflect and build our practice, focusing on how we can better support young people to become workers themselves through training, education and meaningful employment.

It was a great day to connect, learn how we can grow our impact and keep pushing for better pathways for young people across everything we do!

Last month, we held our Health Services Assistance course graduation in Sunshine!

Six young women from the program graduated with a certificate for Health Services Assistance and since, one graduate has already been enrolled to start her Diploma of Nursing at Kangan Institute in July!
