Article published in the West Wimmera Advocate dated 23rd July 2003 reports on the new sculptures being erected on the foreshore of Lake Wallace near the pier.

Another old family photo provided by Roxanne Lopex.

" Woodlands" Edenhope Xmas 1926 is written at the bottom of the photo but unfortunately there are no details of the family members .
Some research reveals the " Woodlands " property may have belonged to the Finnigan family.

A book titled " History of Ullswater" written by Mavis Ward reveals some information about the Banool, Eloora and Woodlands properties were once owned by the Finnigan's . John Finnigan and his wife Jemima Napier and their children Gladys Finnigan ( b. 1889 d. 1975 ), Annie Finnigan ( b.1895. ) Matthew " Matt " Finnigan ( b. 1903 .)

Robert Frederick Finnigan is listed on the Victorian electoral rolls as living at " Woodlands " Patyah in the 1970's along with his brother John Arthur Finnigan.

So a bit of " guess "work involved but it is thought that the family shown in the above photo may be members of the Finnigan family.

LAKE WALLACE OVERFLOW / SPILLWAY.

Paul McCann has provided 3 photos showing Lake Wallace overflowing in August 1987.

Photo No. 1 shows Cameron and Stuart McCann.
Photo No. 2 shows Cameron and Stuart at the overflow/spillway.
Photo No. 3 shows Cameron and Stuart standing near the flood dates signage.

The original flood dates signage was removed and replaced by a new sign ( date unknown ) but unfortunately most of the actual dates were not included on the new sign.

The Edenhope and District Historical Society are investigating the the possibility of erecting a new sign which we anticipate will include all of the exact dates the overflows occurred .

We would like to request our face book followers to provide photos of the overflow / spillway so that we can add them to our existing collections.
