Flashback Friday! ⏪️Many of you might have known us as the Western Australian School Canteen Association Inc. (WASCA). But did you know it’s been two years since we underwent a massive rebrand?

Since the launch of WASCA in 1994, our food provision and nutrition knowledge has changed and evolved. Our organisation has expanded to offer more services in more settings, including schools, community, sport, health services, workplaces and early years settings.

From WASCA to Foodcore, we remain dedicated to increasing food literacy and creating sustainable, equitable food environments. United in goodness, we strive to nourish communities and foster unity through shared, nutritious meals. 🍏

In between events, regional travel and launching new services, our CEO, Megan Maxwell, celebrated her 20-year anniversary this month!! 🥳 It all started when Megan joined the team as a Project Officer in 2006, back when Foodcore was known as WASCA. The rest is history! From training countless Canteen Supervisors and parent body representatives, to creating hundreds of resources and recipes for our members and the wider community, Megan’s impact knows no bounds.

A huge congratulations to Megan on this wonderful achievement. Your dedication and commitment as an advocate for nutritious food environments inspires us all. The best is yet to come. 🤩

Phew! We’re feeling tired but have left the annual WACSSO Conference with full hearts. 🥰 We handed out resources, served up delicious Brownes yoghurt cups, gave away a few prizes - and best of all, got to chat with you! It was great to see familiar faces and meet new ones too.

We had a great time chatting about our new member service, Profit Pulse Check, which we officially launched over the weekend. This service provides a custom review of your canteen’s financial operations in a flash, so you can get real-time, practical financial advice from Foodcore.

And don’t forget, this year’s Robin Bromley Visionary Grants are now open - giving your canteen the chance to receive 1 of 3 x $1,000 grants to spend on training, professional development or equipment. These grants are proudly sponsored by our friends at Brownes Dairy.

Thanks once again to everyone at WACSSO: Representing P&Cs in WA. Events like these bring us together and keep our shared mission of creating healthier food environments strong.
