NSW RFS Flat Tops Brigade Welcome to the Flat Tops Rural Fire Brigade page. Flat Tops RFS is a part of the NSW Rural Fire Service in the Lower Hunter Zone.

note that replies may be delayed during periods of intense fire activity. Flat Tops Brigade was set up in November 1988. Our area of nominal responsibility is approximately 135 sq km to the east and southeast of the Dungog township. Our shed was opened in November 2001, and we operate with a single medium tanker (Cat 7 vehicle). As well as local fires, the Brigade assists at fires throughout the state, and has been on interstate deployments (eg Queensland 2018). Current senior officers are:

More back burning at Simon's fire yesterday

๐Ÿ”ฅ Advice - Simons Fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ

After burning since 9 November, the Simons Fire in the Upper Chichester area of the Dungog LGA has now been brought Under Control, thanks to the hard work of our ground crews and aerial support.

Crews will continue to patrol the area over the coming days to monitor conditions and ensure everything remains safe.
