Teddy would pretty much fit in anywhere, he’s very cruisy! He doesn’t bark at all, his foster has only heard him bark twice the whole time he’s been with them.
Although he is home alone all day and just sleeps, we think he would definitely prefer someone who is home a bit more. He’s still a little nervous of new things and getting used to the car. Toilet training going well, mostly no accidents inside anymore (none for the last four days!). He’s still getting used to walking on a lead- he doesn’t pull but is slow and a bit confused and gets a bit scared of barking dogs, but he’s ok with encouragement. He’s such a little character, very funny- loves cuddles and pats 😍 he loves his non-furred foster sibling (foster's son, he's 15), we think he would be absolutely fine with kids- with other dogs too with some gentle introduction and reassurance (he would be a bit scared I think)

🏀🐾 Zeus: Builder, Supervisor & Professional Belly Rub Enthusiast 🐾🏀

What can’t this boy do?! 😍

Today Zeus was hard at work helping his foster mum put together a basketball hoop! 🔧🏀 He carefully supervised every step of the build, made sure all the pieces were in the right place 👀🐶 and provided plenty of moral support along the way. 😂❤️

Once the hard work was done, Zeus clocked off for some well-earned belly rubs 🥰🤗🐾 before finding the perfect spot to relax and watch his little foster brother shoot hoops and bounce the basketball 🏀👦💙

This gorgeous boy is just happy being part of the family. Whether it’s helping with jobs around the house 🏡, soaking up cuddles 💕, hanging out with the kids 👧👦, or simply chilling nearby, Zeus is always content to be involved. 🥹❤️

He’s gentle, affectionate, calm and incredibly loyal 🐕✨. After everything he’s been through, seeing him enjoy the simple things in life makes our hearts so happy. 🥰🌈

🧡 Chance will need to be kept away from other animals until his conjunctivitis and diarrhea clear up.

595 animal welfare complaints received yet only one infringement given…

Have you reported an animal welfare concern? Did you follow up with what action if any had taken place?

One statistic from last week's NT Estimates Hearing is likely to spark discussion: while 595 animal welfare complaints were investigated during the latest reporting period, only one infringement notice was issued under the amended Animal Protection laws.

Regardless of how people feel about that outcome, these figures highlight something important: authorities can only investigate issues they know about.

Not every complaint results in enforcement action. Some concerns may be unsubstantiated, some may require education (under the opinion of officers) rather than penalties, and others may remain under investigation. But if concerns aren't reported, vulnerable animals that need help may never come to the attention of welfare officers.

The latest figures also showed:

▪️ 595 animal welfare complaints investigated (+10%)
▪️ 81 animals seized (55 cats, 26 dogs)
▪️ 32 animals rehomed through welfare organisations
▪️ 49 animals euthanised to alleviate suffering
▪️ Only 1 infringement notice issued under the amended Animal Protection laws

These figures highlight the important role that community reporting plays in protecting vulnerable animals and supporting a minimum standard of care.

Animals suffering from neglect, abuse or poor welfare often do so silently. They cannot speak up for themselves, which means we are often their only voice.

For those of us who care about animal welfare, reporting suspected neglect, cruelty or welfare concerns remains one of the most important ways we can help protect vulnerable animals and ensure they don't continue to suffer unseen.

🐾 Gentle Giant Zeus 🥹❤️

When it comes to treats, Zeus is the definition of a gentleman! He takes every treat so softly and carefully from your hand. Before dinner, he proudly sits and offers a shake like the good boy he is. 🐶✨

His absolute favourite enrichment? Beef hooves stuffed with raw meat, shredded coconut, and liver! 🤤🥩🥥

The moment he gets one, he’s off like a rocket to the grass to enjoy his special snack in peace. Watching his excitement never gets old! 🏃‍♂️💨🌱

🎉🐾 PAW-SOME ADOPTION UPDATE! 🐾🎉

Our hearts are absolutely bursting after receiving an update on senior sweetheart Socks and her best buddy Nero! 🥹❤️

These two were lucky enough to leave the pound together and start their next chapter side by side 🏡✨

💖 Socks was originally reserved at the pound, but it wasn’t until she arrived home that her true personality began to shine. Within just a few hours, she was showing everyone just how affectionate, loving and smoochy she really is! 🥰🐱💕 She has settled beautifully and is soaking up all the love and attention she can get. ☀️💗

😸 Nero, meanwhile, has settled in like he’s lived there his entire life! 😂👑 He has confidently claimed the house as his kingdom, strutting around like he owns the place and charming everyone he meets. 🏡✨ Even better, he’s getting along wonderfully with the resident dogs! 🐶❤️🐱
