Dalby Lions Club hosted their Children of Courage event this weekend at their Lions Den. Nine children from three Dalby schools were recognised for their courage, bravery, kindness and endeavour. Eight of the children attended – Jasmine, Bella, Noah, Laylah, Alexis, Blayze, Annalise and Imogen. The ninth child, David, was unable to attend.
Children of Courage co-ordinator, Lion Julianne Shipway, welcomed the children, their siblings and friends, parents, grandparents, other friends, teachers and members of the Lions Club. She also welcomed Leila from Arrow Energy, the sponsors for the event. Each child was presented individually and some of their story related. They were then presented with a medallion, a Certificate and a Lions Care Bear by Leila. David will be presented with his awards by President Lorraine at his school parade in the next week or so.
Lions President Lorraine then presented Leila with a Certificate of Appreciation to Arrow Energy for their continued sponsorship of this event. Photographs were taken and everyone proceeded to the morning tea prepared by Lion Ann and her helpers, Kris, Michelle and Malika. Assistance was also provided by Lions Jenny, Peter, Roger and Glenn.
Lion Julianne said this is her favourite Lions event. President Lorraine then said that everyone enjoyed themselves and the children were all stoked to be recognised in this manner.
