💛 Celebrating Our Supported Employment Team 💛

At Sunshine Butterflies, we are incredibly proud of our Supported Employment members and the valuable contributions they make across our social enterprises every day.

This month, we are excited to welcome Ollie to the team! 🌻 As you can see, he has wasted no time getting started, helping create our much-loved handcrafted bread boards.

Our Supported Employment Initiative provides meaningful opportunities for people with disability to gain hands-on experience, build confidence, develop workplace and small business skills, and become valued members of our local community.

With ongoing mentoring, supervision, and support from our experienced, dedicated staff, our team members continue to thrive across our Pantry, Nursery, Laundry, Farmyard, and workshop spaces. Their hard work, positive attitudes, and determination inspire us every day, and it is a privilege to watch each individual grow in confidence, independence, and capability through employment opportunities.

A huge congratulations to our incredible Supported Employment team including Ebony, Hannah, Aaron, Krystal, Allira, Alex and Ollie. 👏 We are so proud of everything you achieve and the impact you make within our organisation and community.

Sunshine Butterflies’ 'Gone Fishin'’ program reeled in another exciting adventure last week! 🎣☀️

Our members and staff enjoyed a fantastic day filled with hands-on learning, new experiences and plenty of fun out on the water. Everyone walked away with valuable knowledge and skills to take on their next fishing adventure.

'Gone Fishin'’ by Sunshine Butterflies is a unique fishing program focused on educating participants about our local river systems and the different fish species found within them. The program provides a safe, supported and social environment where members can enjoy fishing with friends while building confidence and independence.

We are incredibly grateful for the funding support provided through the Department of Agriculture & Fisheries Community Grant Program. Their contribution has helped us deliver meaningful and accessible experiences, while also supporting local businesses and providers within our community.

A huge thank you as well to our wonderful supporters, including BCF - Boating, Camping, Fishing Noosaville, for helping make these experiences possible 💙

Sunshine Butterflies is incredibly grateful to announce the support of Maroochy RSL in enhancing our Farmability program. 🌱🐐

Farmability is an inclusive educational initiative focused on farm animals, gardening and environmental learning for individuals with disability on our 15-acre property, ‘Our Backyard’.

This funding supports the extension of existing fencing to create a rotating paddock system and the construction of safe and secure animal shelters.

These important improvements will enable the safe expansion of our animal program, creating even more opportunities for hands-on learning, social connection and personal growth in a supportive and accessible environment.
