Join us this Sunday, 15 June at 10 AM at the Cooroy RSL & Citizens Club for an in-depth look at Curtin’s wartime warnings and the men who prepared to protect our beaches.

What you’ll discover:

• Custom Army Topo-maps of Eumundi & Landsborough—overlays used to identify logical landing sites and coastal defence rationale.

• Government Rationale & Orders issued June 1942, born from the perceived threat of invasion in 1941.

• Troop Acclimatisation & Training in the Sunshine Coast forests—jungle exercises at Belli Park, Cooroy and the Combined Training School at Toorbul Point.

• Structure & Disposition: how the 5th Division was reorganised into Australian Corps Troops, declared “On Active Service,” and placed under Military Law, plus the rise of Signals Schools at Nambour and Alexandra Headland.

• Unit Locations & Timelines: where and when the 7th Brigade, 21st Brigade, 3rd Division Militia —complete with tactical signs and road-network insights.

• Traffic Movements & Human Cost: the journey of 84 officers and 780 ORs into the 3rd Division, the logistics of coastal defence, and the sacrifices behind Australia’s darkest days.
