A sincere thank you to the players, coaches, volunteers, families and supporters who made the journey and helped make the day such a success. Your commitment, sportsmanship and community spirit are what make these events so special.

We also extend our gratitude to the Lockhart River Aboriginal Shire Council for its support in hosting the tournament.

To our Hope Vale Warriors and Wandii, hope you enjoyed the experience, represented Hope Vale with pride, and made some great memories on and off the field. Well done to everyone involved! 🏉💜💛

Hope Vale Foundation is thrilled to welcome the Wujal Wujal Yindili Rugby Team back to the field after two years away following the impacts of Cyclone Jasper and flooding.

Your return is a testament to the strength, resilience and spirit of the Wujal Wujal community. Congratulations to everyone who played a part in making this comeback possible.

I am incredibly proud of Shinane Doughboy for all her hardwork getting the equipment, food, water ready for the team,our Mayor Alister Gibson, Brandon, Rex, the players, and the entire community for their courage, resilience, and determination in making this comeback possible. It is wonderful to see our team back where they belong — representing Wujal Wujal with pride and spirit.

Come along to this month's Community Connect BBQ!

This month's focus is on education, with the Head of Campus from the Cape York Australian Aboriginal Academy (CYAAA) coming along to share updates from the school, answer questions, and connect with community members.

The Community Connect BBQ is part of the Hope Vale Justice Reinvestment Project—a community-led initiative that brings people, services and organisations together to strengthen community wellbeing and create positive local solutions.

Held on the second Wednesday of every month, these free BBQ gatherings provide a relaxed space to learn, share ideas, ask questions and build stronger connections across our community.

Community members are encouraged to come along, enjoy a free lunch, and have a yarn. Local service providers are also welcome to host an information stall and connect directly with community members.
