Sarah has invited Coleambally Landcare to join in this Sunday.
From Sarah.
You are invited to join the Murrumbidgee Field Naturalists in a

Field trip to Coleambally Trust Blocks
Sunday 9am

Eric Whiting will lead us through the Crown Land conservation blocks which have mature Black Box / Boree Woodland in varying quality depending on where we explore. Sandhill Pine Woodland is also present. Trees are a feature with birds that inhabit them.

Contact Margaret Strong by text to 0434 060 973 to register.

Meet by 9am at the Coleambally Park alongside the Kidman Way, just past the
Kingfisher Ave intersection. Toilet block is in the park.
Bring mid-morning snacks, drinks, lunch and dress for the season โ€“ long sleeves, trousers, hat and an extra outer layer. A hand lens / jewellerโ€™s loupe or magnifying glass will be useful for observing mosses and lichens.

Any queries, you can also contact Sarah Danckert
0427276306.

A working bee at the Coleambally Community Garden, complete with a fire pit and coffee, made for a morning well spent.

Thank you to everyone from the Landcare group and Coleambally Garden Club who came along today - the garden is looking incredible!

We can highly recommend this book, hot off the press, by Justine Hausheer. It features our Bitterns in Rice Project and a bunch of other inspiring conservation stories, from Mountain Pygmy Possums in the high country to Night Parrots in the desert: https://unsw.press/books/the-vanishing-wild/
