This is a call to women who are ready to do more than simply observe the problem, but actually fix it!

CHWS Project is growing. We are now a registered charity, and we’re pulling together a powerhouse Project Committee. The time is now.

We REALLY need women who can:
⚡ Make things happen (admin, digital, social)
⚡ Tell stories that move people (marketing & comms)
⚡ Influence systems (strategy, research, Govt writing)
⚡ Unlock opportunities (funding & grants)

We’re focused on building women, creating change, and working alongside services to strengthen and rehabilitate, not just respond.

A local supporter of the CHWS project is offering a unique opportunity for women to come together and create something special.

What’s on offer:
• Approx. 300sqm of centrally located land
• Established fruit trees already growing
• Space for chickens 🐓
• A chance to build a shared, community-driven garden.

Important:
This is a private arrangement and not a CHWS initiative, but we are 100% in support and love seeing opportunities like this flourish in the community.

QUICK UPDATE: We had a very productive meeting with our partners at Coffs Harbour Council yesterday. The council are very supportive of our vision for this project and we are working together to find some appropriate, accessible land.

We are still working with Council and other levels of government on this project. Really appreciate your continued support and offers to help, volunteer and share relevant information.

We would like to apologise for the delay in responding to some messages. Our committee is made up entirely of volunteers and we’ve been continuing to work away behind the scenes to progress the Coffs Harbour Women’s Shed project.

We’ve also had a bit of illness within the committee, which has caused us to pause and take a breath.

Big thank you for your patience and for the ongoing support and encouragement from the community, it truly means a lot to us.

We’re still actively working with Council and other levels of government to secure a suitable premises for the Shed, and we’ll continue to share updates as things progress.

Across plumbing, electrotechnology, carpentry and tiling, women are not only choosing these careers, they’re excelling in them.

And this is about more than equity.

NSW needs skilled tradespeople to build the homes, infrastructure and communities of the future. When more women step into trades and practical skills, we strengthen the entire workforce and open new pathways for independence, creativity and opportunity.

At Coffs Harbour Women’s Shed HQ, we see this shift happening in real time. More women are picking up tools, learning practical skills, and backing themselves in spaces that haven’t always felt welcoming.

This is what building community looks like.

Reclaim the Night – let’s show up, together 💜

The Coffs Harbour Women’s Shed is proud to support this year’s Reclaim the Night march on 14 November at 5pm.
This is a powerful chance for our community to stand together for safety, respect and freedom for all women.

If you’re able, come along and march with us. Bring a friend, bring your voice, bring your solidarity.

We’ll be meeting at the corner of Hood St & Harbour Dr (opposite the Pier Hotel) from 5pm.
