We will soon be asking for our young female leaders, aged 16-19 yrs, to apply for the 2026 Zonta Club of Coffs Harbour Inc Young Women in Leadership Award. Hadiya Fatima, Macarthur Girls High School and the District 24 winner, has just been announced as one of 37 International winners. This award, worth US$5000, recognises a commitment to volunteerism, volunteer leadership achievements and a dedication to empowering women and girls. The Coffs Harbour Award has now been increased to $1000 for the winner, with thanks to our industry and community sponsors who donate generously to support leadership of young women and girls in the Coffs Harbour community.

Zonta Clubs across Australia joined to help assemble 32,100 birthing kits during May. An amazing effort! Community volunteers and Zonta Coffs Harbour members contributed 400 kits to this total. Over the past few weeks, thousands of Australians have rolled up their sleeves at schools, workplaces, community halls and kitchen tables to help make Mother’s May 2026 a month to remember.

To every volunteer who gave up a Sunday morning, stayed back after work, packed kits on a chilly autumn night, donated, fundraised or helped spread the word – thank you!

Together, we move closer to a world where women and girls can give birth without fear of death, disease or infection. 🙏

The members of the Zonta Club of Coffs Harbour Inc joined with community volunteers today to assemble 400 birthing kits in recognition of the Birthing Kit Foundation Australia 20th anniversary.
Birthing Kits help women in underdeveloped countries to have a clean and safe birth. It was an inspirational afternoon, and a perfect collaboration with the Coffs Harbour Women's Shed Committee who allowed us the use of their Project Headquarters.
