Over the weekend our Brigade took part in the Hunter Valley Championships that were this year held at macksville show ground.
Special thanks to our neighbours NSW RFS - Eungai Brigade and Lower North Coast Support Brigade for helping with a couple of crew members! Great time had by all.

🔥Changes to Burn Notifications🔥

Following community feedback, the NSW RFS has removed the 21-day limit on Burn Notifications outside of the Bush Fire Danger Period (BFDP).

This means you can now submit a Burn Notification for any length of time during non-BFDP, without having to renew every 21 days.

You will still need to notify your neighbours at least 24 hours prior to lighting up.

Some people collect stamps, some collect fishing gear… Josh and Trent collect RFS qualifications! 🚒👏

Over the past few years, these two legends have spent countless hours attending courses, training sessions and sharpening their skills, all while volunteering their time to help keep our community safe.

Their latest achievement? Successfully completing their Crew Leader qualifications! 🎉

This is a fantastic milestone and a testament to the dedication, commitment and hard work they’ve put in over the years. The only downside is they can no longer use the excuse, “I’m just here to hold the hose!” 😄

Volunteering with the RFS is about much more than fighting fires. It’s about learning new skills, being part of a great team, making lifelong friendships and giving back to the community.

A huge congratulations and thank you to Josh and Trent for everything they do for the brigade and our community. Well done, lads! 👏🚒

Happy Mother’s Day!

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the strength, dedication and compassion of mums everywhere, but especially those in our family.

Across the state, thousands of mothers, grandmothers, mothers-in-law, stepmothers and aunties give their time to help protect their communities. Whether they're on the frontline or supporting behind the scenes their contributions are extraordinary.

Today, we thank them for all they do, not just as RFS members, but as leaders and role models in our brigades and communities.

Congratulations to 2 of our own members on passing there assessment today.

Today, members from across the district undertook practical assessments in the Crew Leader Wildfire and Crew Leader Supervision qualifications.

These assessments challenged members through a range of realistic incident scenarios, including briefing crews whilst enroute to incidents, conducting size ups, establishing control, implementing tactics, maintaining crew safety and communicating strategies effectively.

Reaching this stage is a significant achievement, with volunteers first completing the Foundational and Technical Programs before progressing into supervision and leadership roles.

A huge thank you to all members involved today - not only those being assessed, but also the many supporting volunteers who helped make the day a success. From evidence gatherers and role players through to communications operators and assessors, your contribution ensured valuable and realistic training outcomes for everyone involved.

Well done to all members for your professionalism, teamwork and commitment to developing the leadership capability of our district.

Saturday, Clybucca 2, along with our neighbouring brigade Frederickton, attended the North Coast Trucking Social Club’s Truck Driver Memorial Day.

Being part of the RFS isn’t just about responding to incidents—it’s also about getting involved in the community and supporting local events, both within and beyond our area.

Today Clybucca 7 joined forces with neighbouring crews for another hazard reduction burn. This time at Kundabung.
These burns are a great chance to keep our skills sharp, test out different techniques, and work together as one solid team.
Safe to say—it all went off without a hitch 👌
