In an emergency, every second counts. 🚒

Make sure your property entrance is clearly signed, easy to identify from the road, and has visible property numbers at the main gate or fence line.

This is especially important in rural and semi-rural areas, where properties can be difficult to locate at night, in smoke, or during a fast-moving bush fire.

Clear property identification helps emergency services find you faster when it matters most.

Take a few minutes today to check your signage and make sure your property can be easily identified in an emergency. It could save valuable time when help is on the way.

🔥 Be prepared. Be visible. Help us find you.

🔥 Hazard Reduction Burn – Grassy Head 🔥

On Saturday, four of our members assisted a neighbouring brigade at a hazard reduction burn at Grassy Head.

A big thank you to our four members who gave up their weekend to support the operation and the wider community. Your commitment and teamwork are what make the RFS outstanding. 👏🔥

Great work everyone! 🚒

Keeping our equipment in top condition is all part of the job, and more importantly, it helps keep our firefighters safe.

It’s not all hard work though! Truck wash day is also a great excuse to catch up with the crew, solve all the world’s problems over a few laughs, and make the trucks look like they’ve just rolled out of the showroom.

A clean truck won’t stop a fire… but well-maintained equipment and a great team certainly make a difference.

🔥Changes to Burn Notifications🔥

Following community feedback, the NSW RFS has removed the 21-day limit on Burn Notifications outside of the Bush Fire Danger Period (BFDP).

This means you can now submit a Burn Notification for any length of time during non-BFDP, without having to renew every 21 days.

You will still need to notify your neighbours at least 24 hours prior to lighting up.

See the image for more info, or to submit a notification visit www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/notify
