A huge thank you to the Charters Towers Fire Department for sharing your impressive skills and knowledge with our Scout Troop.
Our Scouts were shown through Trucks Alpha and Bravo, taught what all the equipment was for, and how the team responds to emergencies.
Then they were treated to a demonstration of their skills as the team dealt with a mock car fire and rescue, before our Scouts were given a go at using the fire hoses themselves.

Bravo, and thank you for keeping us safe.

Over the last couple of weeks, our Scouts tried their hand at learning some leathercraft. They learnt the process for working with leather including stamping, trimming, and riveting to make their own personalised leather keychains.
Big thanks to Ed and Max for passing on your knowledge.

Come on down to Prospect's Youth Vibes Festival at Defiance Mill Park and grab a snag in a swag and a cold drink from us.
Even have a rest or a game of bean bag toss.

Cubs Big Day Out was epic, it all started off early with a ferry ride over to Magnetic Island. This only brought us to the hike part of the day with a magnificent hike through some parks along the beach and wonderful foreshore until we came down through the walking track the the Esplande at Picnic bay.
What a wonderful spot for the Cubs to enjoy the local area and have some beach play and safe water play before Dugong and Raksha made us a feast for lunch.
Did it end here, No way, we then headed back to Nelly Bay by bus, except a special few staying on the island for the night, where we caught the ferry back to the mainland.
The weather was superb for the hike, and will be an experience they will never forget
Thanks to all the leaders and family that made it possible, with lots of laughs and fellowship had by all.
See you all again next year for CBDO27, New place, same want for adventure.
